The picture of the specimen displayed on Amazon was exactly as received. Beautiful specimen, good size, excellent quality for the price and very happy with it. Anyone who hasn't handled bismuth before should be aware this it is somewhat brittle and extra care should be taken to avoid rough handling or accidental drops. mine arrived with a few small pieces broken off but it was easy to fix with super glue. Not a fault of shipping as the specimen was well wrapped, just that nature of the material.

I gave this to one of my seniors when he graduated (his favorite rock) and he really appreciated it. He loved the color even though it was very small.

Good buy! I received a solid, well packaged piece generally as described. I did not have time to weigh it, but my partner is happy and I am happy and that speaks for its self. Just note that these are more or less *grown*, so your results may vary.

the thing is nice. but you don,t know what it looks like. just pointing out this is not welded together because its made in molten bismuth and some of the molten bismuth droplets remain. cons. its a bit over priced. pros. you can get different sizes witch i like. bismuth hopper crystals are artificial so if your looking for something natural this is not what your looking for.

Beautiful but tiny

I'm 76 and have been fascinated by geology and crystals since I was a boy - I became a chemist and ran a lab for 42 years. I have a "mini" collection of crystals and stones that I add to periodically. I've wanted a bismuth crystal and opted to by this one. It is a nice addition to my collection. Just be sure you are clear on the size of the crystal you are getting: it is quite small but that makes it perfect for my display.
