End game
This is a long one, but to cut it short, these represent end game audio reproduction, and I have some authority to say that. I've listened to Stax electrostatic headphones, 200+ thousand dollar stereo systems, the list goes on. I've been around the block with audio, and moreover, I'm young and have more sensitive ears, and have listen to very demading music. These cans, even running off an iPhone jack, will do you right. They might struggle the tiniest bit with queiter recordings on an iPhone, but it's not enough of an issue to annoy me. They are as sensitive as a lot of IEMs I have used. With an amp or a more powerful output from a Macbook, they will rock your socks off. They produce incredible sound driven even insanely loud. They have a beautifully balanced sound, very flat but perhaps more analytical in the treble than my Sennheiser HD600s tend to be, with an incredibly well controlled and balanced low end for a closed back headphone. The sound is at the point where there is no obvious flaw in the reproduction, which for the price is incredible. They are good enough to use for rudimentary mastering, once their sonic signature is understood. They are balanced enough to really draw out flaws in a recording, but at the same time, they are very pleasant and listenable and deal with every genre well. They are perfect for travelling, they are well isolated both from external noise and in terms of the amount of sound they leak out, not to mention they are as comfortable as any headphone I have worn. They are built like absolute tanks as you can expect too, and on this model the cord is fantastic enough that I'm not even worried about it not being user replaceable. The cable is the perfect length. The only gripe I have is that because of the way the headband works, they cannot sit around your neck when you take them off. But you get used to it, and that's a consequence of the comfortable design and the gigantic driver that gives them their autority with the low end. Buy these. If I was on a desert island, they would be enough for me, and I am as picky as they come. Honestly, anything above these is boderline-placebo difference. They sound stunning.

best closed back headphones I have ever owned
In summary being a 32 ohm resistance means they can easily be powered by your phone or mp3 player or your hifi, laptop or tv. They are very well built and have an incredible sound. At the price point they are probably unbeatable. for those who want more detail: Over the years I have probably owned well over 50 pairs of earphones ranging from earbuds to closed back to open back. Each has its own drawbacks and benefits, so lets just talk about what these headphones are designed for. The main benefit of closed back headphones is that you get bigger speakers which gives a much more refined sound and that they block the sound from being heard by anyone else. Firstly the sound is awsome, incredible even I have a very wide musical taste and have tried them for every genre I own. The sound is so clear that you can hear each instrument very cleanly, the sound is perfect as a reference set of headphones because their is no distortion of the sound from deep bass to high treble. As for the noise cancelling its not 100% but its so close it hardly matters. For headphones without noise cancelling features they are as good if not better than many so called noise cancelling headphones and certainly produce a much cleaner reproduction of what you are listening too. I almost forgot the build quality of the headphones which is worthy of note. The speaker brackets are metal and even then they are very light and comfortable for long listening periods. The earpads and headphone strap are easily replaced but the quality is so good you probably wont wear them out for a very long time.

Damn good, must buy if you're a previous Sennheiser 598 or below user!
First, let me get the packaging/presentation out of the way -- it wasn't great. There's no foam protection, or anything fancy other than a business-like drawstring bag. They were also shipped from Germany in a plastic Amazon bag with no bubble wrap, not even an Amazon cardboard box with the paper padding; this resulted in the product's box taking a little beating in transit. However, they arrived perfectly fine and usable. Now onto the good news... These are good, really good. I used the Sennheiser HD 558 for 5 years and the Sennheiser HD 598SR for 3 years. These are a seamless transition into closed-back headphones from these great open-back headphones. I'm not even 30 minutes into wearing them and I can tell these are a headphone for many years to come, the lows are better than I've grown accustom to, with ample sub-bass which is non-existant on the Sennheisers, and the highs are clear without being sibilant or harsh; I'm super happy. Especially so, as I tried the new PlayStation Pulse 3D headset prior to these arriving and was disappointed in their small size, discomfort and fake virtual 3D sound. These headphones genuinely seem to let me hear more than I could already with the Sennheiser's, I don't know if that's placebo effect or due to the extra isolation, but it's fantastic. Update 1: I paired these Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm with the Brainwavz XL Large Perforated Replacement Memory Foam Earpads and wow, it really opens up the soundstage! It does lower the bass just a tiny, barely noticeable amount, but you do also get a little more breathability and the lower end gets clearer (though I don't know if that's due to the driver being broken in -- I used a random playlist of high quality music of the genres I enjoy, with a few pink noise tracks mixed in). Note: If you need a microphone apparently the Beyerdynamic MMX300 MkII is the headset to go for as they're the DT 770 Pro enhanced, albeit at the cost of having to plug into the controller on consoles which I found to distort the sound. Update 2: I've since wound some wool around the headband for a little added comfort and to preserve the protein leather. Be warned that faux leather wears down quickly (I could see mine starting to flake after a few days use which is ridiculously bad). I'm sold into the Beyerdynamic family now and would love to try the others. They're well thought out and the spring steel headband ensures confidence in being able to stretch it out for comfort (due to the tight clamp at first) without any plastic creaking or snapping; as is the case with other headbands.

First of all I want to mention that I have the 32 ohm version, in terms of sound it’s possible that you can fine some very tiny differences between the version. Anyway let’s start this review by mentioning the build quality whitch is excellent, the fact that this headphone are manufactured in Germany is a proof of quality and there is almost nothing to say, well build, everything can be remplace if needed except the cable (more on that later) and very confortable, I was wearing these for hours and hours never hade any issue. Overall in build quality and confort it’s a 10 out of 10. Now we will talk about the most important things for all the headphone : the SOUND QUALITY, overall excellent but we will dig a bit more on that. First this headphone are mainly made for a studio usage but I am using them for casual listening and video game. About sound quality we can write thousands and thousands words to describe the sound but I will try to make shorter. As I said before the sound quality is excellent we will start with the bass as expected when looking the frequency response graph the bass is here but as much as beats headphone, so those who want very bassy headphone, save you money. In the other hand the sub base is very deep but not « muddy » they are very well defined, the mid are here and clear as we can expect from a good pair of headphone. The treble, we need two mention that this headphone is made will boosted treble and can be difficult for people with very sensitive ears, I am very sensitive to high note at the beginning I was about to return them because of these high note, you can sometime ear sibilance (the ssss! Sound that you can ear on the s and t’s) the high are just piercing out of the box, but after about a week the sibilance is still there but not as painful as the beginning. These high note give a very clear and crispy sound when it come to voice or other high notes. Overall the sound quality is very good, the soundstage is awsome you can imagine all the instrument playing they own way and making an awesome results this is crazy. Final world for this headphone very good build quality, comfort, sound with only little defects the CABLE , for the price you would expect a detachable cable but sadly the cable not is removable make is the only part that can break and you can’t remplace also to mention that it is a bit short. Anyway you can go wrong buying these headphone !! Highly recommend

I got the 32ohm one. General uses and listen to music. I also have a few from Sennheiser and AKG. Although, 770 are long time studio standards and I also use those before but I never own one. Build: I feel confident with these. These will last long with proper care. Even if something damaged you can always replace the part. Comfort: These are very comfortable and does not get me sweating. I wear glasses so it does get a bit of annoying after an hour or so but that is a problem for every one who has to wear a pair glasses. Bass: Excellent. Deep sub bass. Even entire range is close to natural if not completely flat. Might a bit of lake around high bass but we can EQ that. But not necessary to EQ. Mid: Flat, clear and details. Voices are present and clear. Treble: Well, I did hear some sibilants. Sharp "S", "SH" sounds. Specially when you listen to Shreya Ghoshal :P this hurts my ears. That is usually because of a peak between 8khz and 10khz. We can EQ that easily. And also I think there is a bit of recess between 3khz and 5kzh. If you listen to electric guitar you will realize that. Sound-stage: Never expected to have such enjoyable sound stage. These are close back and considering that it does have a decent sound stage. You can easily shift your attention from one instrument to another. Nothing overlaps. Vocal is right at the center and rest of the instruments are surrounding you. Although not as wide as some open back headphones but this is great. Also if you wear glasses the sound will slightly change. So experience is best without glasses. Also close your eyes :P If you are not a professional then I believe DT 770 pro 32ohm are overall a full package. Good build, excellent sound, detailed and decent sound-stage. I do have a little bit of tuning with these. So below my chart: 30hz => Q1.4 , Low Shift, 2db gain 226hz => Q1.4, Bell, 3db gain 2.5khz => Q3, Bell, -2db gain 3.5khz => Q3.5, Bell, 3db gain [9khz => Q4.36, bell, -6db gain] OR [6kzh => High shift, -4db gain 9kz => Q4.36, bell, -3db gain]
