the switch i have has 4 wires red white green and black will this switch work

The black should be ground, the the red hot and the white and green one should be up and the other down. At least that is how it works for my app which is for the raising and lowering of my tractor mounted snow blower. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Can this switch be used for 120V ?

is each switch closed (making electrical contact) while it is held/pressed? I want to use it as a "dead man" type switch.

Yes. it only makes contact while it is held. You let go (stop pressing) it breaks contact.
