Just as their urban legend suggests, the siblings Sora and Shiro are gods when it comes to gaming. But a life of winning has left the duo restless, until a boy calling himself Tet introduces them to a parallel fantasy world where every race must resolve their disagreements through a game. Can the siblings uphold their winning streak and become the salvation of all humanity in the process? The odds aren’t in their favour, but Shiro and Sora are going to duel till the end in No Game, No Life. Review: One of the best series out there, but only if you watch the sub - I love this series, so much so that I bought it for a friend, so this is a tale of two reviews. My friend didn't like this series, she found it average and wouldn't really go out of her way to watch it again, I tried to find out what went wrong, turned out she watched the dub despite my earlier behest to avoid the dub at all costs. This tale has a happy ending, she did rewatch it on the sub, she changed her mind and loved it and couldn't believe that a dub could make so much difference or that they could get so much wrong in making a dub. Morale of the story, avoid the dub at all costs, it's horrific, do yourself a favour and watch the sub. Honestly, it shouldn't have happened, if you've read the books then you know there is a clear cut way all the characters sound, but either everyone was miscast in the dub or was not directed in the slightest, so what you get is voice acting that sounds nothing like the characters that they are supposed to portray. You have Sora who sounds like a Jock, when that's the total opposite of what he's supposed to be, Shiro, she's young, she's isolated and insular to the point that just saying a single word takes a huge effort, she's also analytical to the point that at times she can seem emotionless this is the biggest part of her character, yet none of that is in the dub, she sounds way too old and has none of those personality traits come across in the voice acting. Jibril is also totally wrong, they looked at her design and said "oh she's an angel, let's make her sound angelic" even though anyone who knows anything knows the joke with Jibril is that her character is totally out of whack with her appearance. The only one they didn't get wrong was Ino. This is why dubs get such a bad reputation, when a lazy localisation is done with zero direction, bad casting and no one looking at the original or checking out the source material or even caring about how anyone is supposed to sound or anything. Come on people, you can do better than this, I'm firmly in the "not all dubs are bad" side, but when you get stuff like this, it's hard to defend. This is one of my favourite series, both anime and books, the episodes are so easy to watch and just so much fun, the characters are what makes this series. The siblings end up in a world where games decide everything, as Blank, they have the motto, Blank never loses, this is a promise and a premonition, and so because we know they won't lose the joy is finding out how they are going to win, this is where you need good characters to make such a story work. The characters here are so flawed, so messed up, and so insane that you just end up loving them, you feel for the much suffering Steff who has to put up with everyone's antics, in a way she is the only relatable character because of just how much on a different level everyone else is. Where this series succeeds, compared to where others fail is that no one is perfect, Sora and Shiro are godly together, they can out think or out play anyone, alone they are nothing, they will fall apart, even together they have many personality flaws and inabilities that they can't be described as perfect or someone you'd want to be, at games they are unbeatable, at life, they instantly fail and they are well aware of that. This is an absolute joy to watch, the jokes at the end always make me smile, the series itself is funny as hell, my only issue is I can never watch just one episode which often leaves me watching the entire series in one day, or two days if I started late at night. It leaves you wanting more. Review: One of my all time favorite series so I just had to have it. - One of my all time favorite series so I just had to have it. Excellent story line, great characters and good animation. I love Anime and if it makes me laugh and keeps me engaged it gets a thumbs up from me. This does both with style. Now for all the people who say "Oh the sub is better" or "The voices just don't fit the characters" stop moaning and just watch the sub and in the real world peoples voices don't always match your expectations of what they should sound like. So to conclude I've had my moan and still think this is definitely worth a watch.

Was expecting more along the American release, but still worth buying!
Received this a day early, admittedly not as good as the American collectors edition as it only includes the prints on top of the soundtrack and DVD/Bluray combo. Everything included is beautifully presented however, with English 2.0 and Japanese 2.0 audio to make everyone happy.

Great show, leaves you wanting more
Wow, amazing product at a great price, box art is great, art cards are cute with lots of moe shot of the characters and with 2 dvds 2 blu rays and 3 cd soundtrack discs the value speaks for itself. As for the show. The story is fun with great prospect however with only 12 episodes and no follow up series in sight it does leave it very open ended and wanting more. So fingers crossed for a 2nd series

First purchase of an anime box set
I chose to get No Game No Life as my first box set of an anime, and this delivered on all accounts. Everything arrived intact; 2 DVDs, 2 blu-rays, 3 CDs for the soundtrack and a bunch of lovely prints of the characters. Great value for money.

It is not as good as the american release, but still good
It is not as good as the american release, but it is pretty good for what it is worth. I pre-ordered it and got it a day early.

Prepare to laugh. If you're a fan of games and anime then you can play a meta-game of spotting the references. Vibrant art style, great voice acting, and a genuinely fun adventure.
