Great battery , great price , great service ....cant beat a Dewalt 54v battery , they also work really well on the 18v tools

very heavy but goes on and on - and often I have no access to mains for the entire work day. Later addition: it only goes on and on for the whole day if being used for the 18v tools. In this situation it is a 6 amp battery. When it s powering a 54v tool it is only a 2amp battery and so runs out surprising;y quickly - around 2 hrs of light use in my still limited experience (the battery keeps running out....). Expensive to invest in a lot of them! But they work well with the 18v tools. The fast charger (Dewalt DCB118) does however do exactly what it says and so rapid recharging (60mins or so) seems realistic.

Csnt give 5 as so far so good used it for a week on and off with the other 6 54v batteries I have. Only thing that is in my opinion true the 'dewalt' own brand deffinitely out last the repro ones I have by at least 30 mins. All others I have even 18v dewalt ones last much longer. Not sure why but assume if others are cheaper not as good a product???? But so far with this one all good!! Time will tell!!👍

Brilliant battery purchase! Found batteries on amazon a lot cheaper than screwfix etc! Used this for the flex volt circular saw and with constant use building a 12ft by 12ft shed only needed to charge it once! It’s great that you can use it with non flexvolt Dewalt tools too!

Awesome batteries, loads of power but charge times does take a while on a standard charger but it as a big battery also slightly bigger in form factor compared to a standard 4ah battery 18v = 6ah 54v = 2ah

Used it twice worked good but now its broke wont charge. Im so angry first time i ever used amazon an spent 600pound what included 2 batteries which niether work

I have used this DeWalt Battery and found it to be very good and reliable, its 54v is very powerful.

These battery are like heroin; you know that it is not good for you. But once you get hooked on it, you can't stop buying it. When introduced in 2016, FlexVolt was considered to be the pinnacle of battery technology. 56/60V cordless power tools are considered to be far more efficient when compared to 18v tools. Even today, the other manufactures could match the power, performance and runtime of FlexVolt tools. These batteries have 15 cells each producing 3.6v and 2ah. The cells are arranged in 3 banks as shown in the picture. Each bank contains 5 cells producing 18v. When connected on 18v tools, these banks form a parallel connection providing 18v and 6ah to the tool. But when it is plugged to a 56v tool, these banks gets connected serially producing 56v and 2ah. There are a few practical issues with this configuration . 1) Even if one cell goes bad in the battery pack, it won't be able to deliver enough voltage to the 56v tools and it becomes completely useless. See the picture. One of the cells in the first bank is showing 0 volt and the battery is completely useless now. 2) Another issue is its complicated switchover mechanism to switch between 18v and 56v. It has a slider mechanism and two extra terminals for connecting it to 56v tools. If dirt, dust or debris gets into it, the tool won't work. The batteries used on the tools like angle grinders, reciprocating saws, chain saws and air blowers this is a big problem. The quality of the cells used on these batteries are not so good. It looks like at are built for performance not durability. Usually, lithium-ion batteries last last 5 years. But the FlexVolt batteries won't even last 3 years. Both the batteries that came with my 2018 made Dewalt DCS388 reciprocating saw are dead now. You need to keep the battery terminals always cleaned. Otherwise the chargers many refuse to charge them. I don't see such issues with Makita batteries or the Dewalts regular 18v batteries. I have three FlexVolt tools now. I bought them without knowing the problems and limitations of these batteries. I have no option other than keep buying these faulty batteries at exorbitant prices.
