Q: Why did the price go up £18 over night ?

To cut prices again for black Friday to make it seem like a deal.

Q: Will this be a suitable tool to plane a couple of inches from the bottom of a wooden door? Also, would the disk that it comes with be suitable?

Good morning. Thank you for your enquiry. This tool would NOT be suitable for cutting wood. It would be VERY dangerous to fit a wood saw blade to the grinder. Consider a circular saw or jig saw to remove wood from the bottom of a door. Give consideration to the thickness of the door before you make your purchase to ensure the blade on the tool you select has enough depth capacity. Q: Are Ryobi's own discs (part no. rak6agd115 ) compatible with this grinder? They seem too thin and look like they need a shim.

The thin ones are for cutting, the thinner disc cuts quicker as it is taking off less material. The thicker ones are better for grinding.

Q: is the battery included with the grinder or not?

No they come separetly.May I recommend that especially if you have a number of tools that work with the same battery (Ryobi one+), you should have different size batteries.Lower amps are cheaper and charge quicker, they are lighter and will do a lot of work.Bigger 4-5 amps are heavy and effect the balance of the tool, depending on the duration of the job , you can use a smaller or a larger pack.I wish there was a design where you could just plug in the mains to finish off the job when power runs out at a critical point you dont have a charged spare.Just like phones.
