Well constructed unit and worth the money. The only gripe is that the cable from the socket outlet plug does not line up properly with the exit from the unit making it difficult if a rigid or extra sized double insulated cable is used from the plug top.

Excellent Fits nice to shed , safety catch secure

Bought to replace a standard socket as it wasn't able to cope with constant EV charging. Not had a problem since installing this. It's a like for like socket replacement, so easy to self install if you're brave enough. (Just make sure you cut the mains power first)

It is simply NOT suitable for EV charging. Tried two different portable chargers and neither would plug in properly and allow the case to shut and become waterproof. The design of the unit has not catered for the more substantial cables that EV chargers use. Unfortunately my electrician has installed this prior to me discovering the awful truth! Seek out a socket that has been properly designed for portable EV chargers.

As an outdoor waterproof socket it is great, I have a few around, singles, doubles and a timer version for outdoor lights. What yo do need to know though is that it is not suitable for mode 2 EV charging cables, they are simply too big. Good news though, BG do a socket designed for EV Mode 2 cables if that is what you need it for, check out online.
