BlueSnail Coffee Tamper 51mm

Precisely the correct size for a de Longhi 820 B ( and probably a good many other machines by that maker). It is quite hard to get a tamper of 51mm and this is by far the best, and also the cheapest. Beautifully finished and nice and heavy, in contrast to the wooden handled ones that sell for three times the price. Does the job and looks good.

This an excellent product, unfortunately the one I received had a small defect in the centre of the base, corrosion/cracking or perhaps a tooling fault. The Company were very polite and courteous. I tried to take a photo of the fault but because of the reflective surface the defect was masked by reflection. They asked me to return it and the packaging it came in but they provided no address to do this. I decided because the product was not that expensive I would just keep it as I believe it came from Hong Kong/USA? and waited some time to receive it in the first place. The product is an excellent tamper quite heavy and great for tamping the coffee. Had it not been for the defect in the base I would have given this 5*. Tiny Deal need to bring to the manufacturers attention to quality inspection of their products.

Brilliant piece of kit. Every cup of espresso is now reliable, unlike when I only had use of the plastic disc which hangs down under the coffee machine. The tamper is heavy (weighs about 600 gm), the right size for my dispenser, comfortable to hold and even beautiful to look at. It stands to reason that pressing upwards against a piece of plastic cannot compare with pressing downwards with a heavy piece of steel when it comes to degree of compression obtainable.

Lovely stainless steel tamper. It is reassuringly heavy and solid and fits the portafilter on my espresso machine perfectly. I like the design and the fact that is is very easy to keep clean and is dishwasher safe. It is also appropriately priced for its high quality finish.

ok i should have read the description but i didnt so you get what you pay for etc, in this case its chrome plated MS. Ok it has a nice weight and it dose the job and as i ordered a "bargain" (with a wee bit of damage ie a ding on the edge and the plating a bit brocken up so it will rust etc one day....) i am ok with it. If i had read properly i doubt if I would have placed an oder. However for an SS tamper its double the cost or so. and my La Pavoni has a non standard basket this fits but is gappy and its a bit annoying. SO..... one day i might get a bit of SS machined to place on the end as the btm of the tamper unscrews so all may not be lost.....just the cost of a chunck of SS and some tool time somewhere....ohhh yes i might have well got the right thing first time.... live n learn. In summary its ok.... but factor in the postage etc not such a bargain. and they claim that they are having their goods counterfieted...!!! by who! or even whom....what is the world coming to when the manufactureres of such stuff are complaining about being ripped off by some "unscrupilous" people...probably some bad ppl in the UK in a sweat shop somewhere

Absolute tat! Arrived in damaged packaging in 2 pieces that wont screw back together.

I didn’t think I could get worked up about something as simple as a tamper. However it’s a thing of beauty, seriously weighty (As needed in order to do it’s job with ease), and amazingly ergonomic. Tamps Coffee grounds for espresso with authority creating a good puck which results in lovely Coffee.

At first, I thought it was great, and after a few days I looked more closely.. The tamper seems to be coated with a chrome finish rather than being stainless steel as advertised. Mine has a slight bulge forming along the edge, which hinders operation. Wouldn't buy again.

En plus d'être un bel objet au design épuré, la construction en monobloc d'acier fait que son entretien est simplifié et la durée de vie allongée par rapport à des modèles avec manche en bois. Le toucher est lisse, l'objet tient bien dans la main, bien que très massif comme on s'y attend, vu le diamètre. Le fait que le manche en métal rajoute du poids est bienvenu. Ainsi le poids seul de le presse à café permet de bien tasser la mouture.

Ciao, da poco ho presso sempre su Amazon una macchina per il caffe De Longhi Dedica 685 insieme ad un macinacaffe Graef 702 e certamente non poteva mancare il tampers che ho acquistato non molto fiduccioso per il discorso del diametro. Invece appena provato mi sono accorto che avevo fatto ottimo acquisto. Il tampers pesa tutti i numeri in descrizione, ed è fatto in due parti, L 'impugnatura e la base del tampers che si uniscono tramite una vite. Personalmente lo trovo funsionale ed elegante.

Der Tamper ist ordentlich schwer und liegt gut in der Hand. Er passt zur De'Longhi E680. Der Tamper ist sehr sauber verarbeitet, es gibt keine Riefen, Kratzer, Kanten o.ä.. Nicht, dass es von irgendeiner Relevanz wäre, aber sogar das Gewinde ist auch sauber gearbeitet. ;-) Eine gewisse Sorge vor Rost im Gewinde kann ich mittragen, es wird bei mir etwas Vaseline abbekommen, damit ist es absolut sicher. (Der Tamper selbst ist sicherlich rostfrei, der Farbe nach vmtl eine Messinglegierung. die Griff und Druckplatte sind jedoch mit einem Gewindestift (vmtl Eisen) verbunden, der komplett innen liegt.)
