Bought for fossil prep - decent tool, need to make sure you get good tungsten tips

Noise but does the job .

I wanted to engrave a wooden box to make it into a Christmas Eve Box. Having never attempted this before I decided to go for the Dremel based on other reviews and wasn’t disappointed. It came as stated, mains connected tool with one attachment. Turns on and off at the back and you can control speed on the side. There’s a formed soft rubber pad (the gray part in the picture) to hold when engraving so you don’t end up with blisters etc after use. Worked well for engraving a words. Bigger areas took more work and didn’t come out so well, poor combination of wood and the narrow engraving tip. I probably shouldn’t have used this type of tool for what I was trying to achieve. Perfect for a beginner like me. Literally plug it in, turn it in and you can start!

good tool for dremel ok bought most tools plus accessories but supposed to be engraver tested it on think ply soft ply and mertreral works great on soft stuff perfect but soft wood not so good yes puts marks on wood but to me the tip needs redesigning to mark wood better plus at high speed just a racket only reason for 3 stars I could do better with my metal letter stamps not bad price great design just vibrates but tip idea not so good

A very useful item and if you shop around you can pick these up for a few pounds. But do use them carefully. The end of the unit where the engraving nib secures is aluminium (or something like that). I found that the first time I tried to tighten the screw to hold the nib, it simply stripped the threads. l meaning I could not secure the nib and the unit was useless. So do be careful with that. I got mine replaced. In use you can engrave even hard steels, quite easily. Personally though, I find the shape a bit odd. However I hold it, it just feels awkward. So writing and engraving names are very difficult to do. Its damn noisy too ! I mean "really" noisy. So do think about where you are going to use it. I do use mine, and find it very useful, for engraving numbers on tools. But I dont think its the kind of tool I could use all day long, say for engraving a design on something.

This Dremel 290 Engraver - Compact Engraving Pen Tool with Carbide engraving Tip and 1 Stencil has been really useful on a variety of materials so far. I gave 4 stars for easy to hold because it did take a bit of getting used to but I practised on scrap materials before tackling any important objects so it was for me not too long before I could use it quite confidently. I have been pleased with all the results so far and have engraved on plastic, wood and metal though I haven't tried any glass yet. The stencil is okay, I prefer freehand overall but that really is just a personal choice. A cost effective tool for me that does the job on a range of hobby type and ownership engraving projects.

Prodotto ottimo ad un prezzo inferiore rispetto ai negozi. Consueta rapidità e precisione di Amazon. Consiglio di indicare nella descrizione che la spina è di tipo inglese. Comunque lascio una segnalazione per utilizzare comunque la spina inglese: utilizzate un riduttore di spina con attacco grande e inserite i piedini della fase e del neutro (sono la coppia di piedini paralleli)

Je me réjouissais de recevoir mon graveur et voici que c'est un modèle avec prise anglaise qui est arrivé et sans adaptateur en plus... ça m'agace de devoir le retourner et d'attendre l'envoi d'un nouveau.

Bought the device as a present for national "Sinterklaas" holiday...Nice tool to process the fossils we found last year. Dissapointmrnt was big when we opened the box and discover we couldn't use it because the power connector was UK

Good product for hand engraving most any thing. Not rotary but vibrating which is just as wanted and does a proper job!
