An excellent device and a solid upgrade from past models
Having now used this microphone for quite a bit, it really has been a really ideal microphone for several use-cases. It is extremely high quality sound, has a lot of great sound configuration options that really do set it apart from other less expensive models. Overall, it excelled my expectations in most cases. Below I will list out what I have noticed, both negative and positive. Pros: The sound quality is exceptional for its size. It can capture anything from 64 kbps mp3s in mono up to 96 kHz / 24-bit WAV or FLAC. It’s got 3 microphones at the front, each angled differently allowing you to capture full ambiance of the environment. The fact that you can adjust the microphone input to reduce the sound to a more specific cone at the front of the device can really make a huge difference to reduce/mitigate background noise or just to allow the audio to focus on your subject from a distance. This makes using it for things like video calls, podcasts, or interviews a dream. The battery life is very decent. I was able to use it consistently for filming a short film and over the course of 4 hours and it had drained down to 70 percent. So realistically, you can get a few full days of work day out of this on one charge. Should you need it for longer, it does just use 2 standard AAA batteries so you can easily keep a spare set with you. It has a USB composite mode which allows you to connect it to a computer as an interface device. This allows you to use it as a microphone for things like streaming, podcasts, zoom calls, etc. Cons: Although it was hard to find many cons for this device, there are a few key points that should be touched on. They did remove voice guide for eye-free control in this model as compared to prior models. Some people that have used older models will notice that the slide out USB-A in previous models has been replaced by a micro-USB port and cable. While I don’t consider this a con, some may due to the need to now carry a cable along with the recorder itself. Overall, it is a major upgrade from prior models, excellent sound quality and performance for its size, and very portable. Great for working professionals and passionate hobbyists alike.

Great device!
This device is great and I’m enjoying using it. The only issue I have is that you can’t listen to the high quality audio through Bluetooth. You have to record in the lesser format for Bluetooth headphones. The features help out a lot especially the app that goes with the recorder. The recorder is extremely sensitive and picks up everything. My son was speaking in another area of my house and it was picking it up. I have another recorder which I use to record with before purchasing this one and it doesn’t pick up like this one. So basically this one is great and I wish I had bought this one from the beginning. I ended up buying a small case for it and I already had a strap I could use on it. I also really like that it’s small and has so many features especially the live listen while recording. I know a lot of recorders have that feature so it isn’t anything special but it’s one of the features that was a must have for me. Overall I really like this recorder.

Works very well for classroom/lecture use
I use a physical audio recorder primarily for class lectures. I'm a college student and from term to term room sizes change, you sit in different places, etc - and I like that this recorder has the ability to change settings to fine tune for these changing situations (a particularly useful feature is the zoom mic & also the ability to set the recording volume of the mic). After doing research for a better suited recorder than my pervious, I was narrowed down to this device (the OM LS-P5) and another Phillips device (the DVT 110 VoiceTracer). Ultimately, I was drawn to the multi way mics, adjustable settings, and mobile app control the 2 devices both offered. However, the reputation of Olympus/OM Systems when it comes to audio devices did motivate my leaning towards purchasing this device - but in the end, I have not regretted it. The LS-P5 can record in multiple formats, but for me I mostly just use the MP3 option. You can make tonss of folders to separate your recordings (natively on the device there are a few options to choose from for folder names like "Lecture", "To Do", etc etc - but if you connect it to a computer you can add unique names) & there is a built in calendar search feature. The device has bluetooth for connecting to the app, but also for live audio monitoring (while the device is recording, you can connect your bluetooth headphone and hear exactly how the recording is sounding). With the app, I am able to place the audio recorder at the front of my class near the professor lectern and control the device by making index marks, pausing/stopping/starting recordings - this has been super useful for my needs.

I have many digital voice recorders but this, last one, is the best one! Small in size but with excellent out speaker. Big inner memory - 16gb, and possibility to expand the memory up to 2TB!!! Everything work and simple in execution. No annoying bugs found even after 1 month of permanent use. My usage. Mainly for recording all kind of programs (international news in many languages), and listening to all those programs from a voice recorder (using speaker from my recorder) directly.
