I made the mistake last time of getting the wrong type of silicone that wasn’t heat resistant and it ended up 🔥 . I also only uses a single wall chimney, which obviously did not work. But this go around I splurged and I haven’t had any issues. Really simple to use. Super satisfying to cut the ring. Just make sure you don’t cut too deep, right? You can always cut more, but you want that snug fit.

I bought two of these to seal my two chimneys after installing a new metal roof. The base is very easy to form to the ribs of the metal roof, and it has starter indentations for the screws. The graduations in the rubber are easy to see, and it cuts easily. I did use a caulk to seal the underside where it impacts the roof, but I am not sure it was necessary. The rubber fits very snuggly around the pipe. I have no issue with leaks. Great product,

I put on a corrugated metal roof on my house and originally received a round base type boot. It leaked the first rain because of the difficulty making the round base screw tightly down going over each corrugation. I used smaller square ones on vent pipe coming through the roof and they worked fine. So I bought this square base one on Amazon for my wood stove pipe. Installing the boot went on and secure a lot easier than the round one AND it worked great. No more leak.

Easy to install

We installed a wood stove in our shipping container home this past weekend. We needed a rain stopper as with shipping container roofs there is not a slope to help with the rain runoff. We use a DuraVent triple-wall chimney and a DuraVent ceiling box on the inside. We cut the 10" diameter hole, inserted the chimney, and then worked on the roofing boot. This DekTite boot is incredible. I used a LocTite sealant around the chimney/hole and then used a silicon caulking under the rim. I used self-drilling screws in the container roof to mold the boot around our roof contours. I then used another bead of silicon caulking around the edge of the rim. Luckily, the boot was in place yesterday as the rain came last night. NO Leaking at all! Great Product!

Great product. Was concerned about some previous reviews however the product worked great and fitted perfectly around my 6” insulated chimney pipe that had an outside dimension of 10” on a 10 / 12 pitch metal roof.

Yup it works

The option for a metal roof was to acquire or make a kit and cut a large hole into the roof. With this flashing boot, all you need to do is cut a round hole the size of your pipe and slip the flexible boot over it. Easy does it and passed the test with flying colour after a big rain! I wished only that it had a different colour. Since then, I saw a black version which I would have ordered instead of orange. There is an installation video on youtube that gave me the confidence to proceed.
