This doll arrives in a pretty clear fronted box measuring approx 41.5cm x 23cm x 12.5cm. This would be easy to wrap & make a lovely gift for any child who likes to take a toy to bed, or to cuddle up with a doll from time to time. She (or he, dressed in white this little one can be whoever you want it to be) comes with a soft hat, a babygrow & a dummy. The babygrow has velcro on the back so the doll can be dressed or undressed but she is not suitable for bathing. Unlike most Tiny Tears, this doll has no water functions, so cannot be fed, does not cry or wet. She has a soft torso, but hard arms, legs & head. Her hair is moulded plastic strands which are not painted, they actually do look quite effective as they cast shadows in the light which look like a little hair. She's very well made & just right for kids who like to snuggle their baby dolls. As she has a soft body, she is lighter than other plastic dolls of this size. Her eyes do not completely close when you lay her down, as her eyelashes are very dense & thick - they almost do, but the lashes stop them closing the last bit. From the product images, I think the first image makes her look lighter skinned than she is. The further images are more accurate a colour representation of her skin tone.

Firstly if you are gifting this do take a few minutes trouble to remove the packing wires and clips. These are for the manufacturer’s convenience, for transport and presentation. A long wire securing the soft body, around the waist, clips keeping the feet in place and the dummy. Each can be removed and thrown away, so that your child can instantly extract and embrace the doll from the box. Success! I remember my own daughter having a Tiny Tears in the seventies. It has been a perennially much loved doll. Now in the twenty first century the babe has a sweet baby grow, which does up at the back with the cap attached. A dummy that can be popped in or taken out. The babies sleeping eyes open as it is lifted up. An excellent choice for little ones from ten months old.
