This color wheel has been very helpful in choosing colors for crochet yarn. I had grown tired of the normal colors and wanted to try some new colors but did not want the colors to clash and waste $$$ on yarn I could not use. It is an attractive wheel with helpful explanations on how to use it.

Easy to use and give's clear information for color contrast and accents

If you need a color wheel for your classroom or for assisting individuals who are “color-matching challenged” – an apt description of my spouse, daughter, and grandson – then the “Creative Color Wheel” is perfect. Made in the United States and constructed using a vinyl-coated paper, this two-sided color wheel is extremely useful as well as being educational. A brass grommet secures the guide space wheel to the actual color wheel. There are 18 pure colors around the perimeter of the “Creative Color Wheel”. Each color’s section descends toward the center of the wheel and shows six progressively lighter tints of the pure color. Complementary colors and tints are opposite one another on the wheel. Harmonious colors appear side-by-side; additionally, each of these separate sections shows all six tints. Warm and cool colors are marked appropriately. Brief definitions of terms and color theory are shown on the left side of the guide space wheel. The flip side of the “Creative Color Wheel” shows three progressively darker tones followed by three progressively darker shades of their pure color located on the wheel’s perimeter. Brief definitions of color schemes are shown on this side of the color wheel. As on the front of the color wheel, harmonious colors are shown side-by-side and complementary colors are shown opposite one another. The “Creative Color Wheel” is a wonderful teaching tool and a quality product. I priced this same item at the large craft stores and Amazon’s price was the best I found. If you need a color wheel for your classroom or to help those who are “color-matching challenged” individuals, the “Creative Color Wheel” may be just what you need.

If you're getting an 18-color wheel, you probably want the colors to be accurate. I have bought several color wheels and they all seem a little different. Now I have 3 different ones from the Color Wheel Company and they sure seem to have stricter quality measures. All of their wheels match each other, and they are truer to color than some others that I have bought. Lesson learned. Definitely worth paying a little extra, especially for this one since the shades of difference are so much smaller.

Pros: The wheel is printed with saturated colors on one side, and lighter tones on the other. Arrows indicate your main color, along with complementary, semi-complementary, and triad palettes. There is also a glossary printed on it explaining those and other color theory terms making it useful for someone who is new to color theory/design. Cons: The cardboard of which the wheel is made is *very* thin; it feels like it will tear when rotating the indicator, especially since the protective coating on the wheel makes it a bit "sticky." Product was not well-protected when shipped, and it arrived with bent/creased edges. If it hadn't been sealed in the original packaging, I woud have been convinced it was used rather than new. Conclusion: It will get the job done for the casual artist/quilter, however if you plan on using this frequently, you'd be better off getting a sturdier wheel. I suspect I'll be buying one that's a little more heavy-duty in the not-too-distant future.

This color wheel is not much different than the other purchase but I will work on full understanding.

Great size, big help with quilt color selection

Me está resultando muy útil para decidir colores para mis dibujos de una manera que queden bien entre sí. Al tener doble círculo (delante y atrás) tiene muchos tonos de color. Además muy útil los indicadores de lo que serían colores homogéneos, complementarios... Muy útil.

Light but sturdy plastic or PVC (not sure) colour wheel, easy to handle and serves its purpose. Good quality colours help deciding on colour schemes, which colours combine well and all colour-related projects in general. I use my Color wheel a lot and, after receiving the first one some time ago, decided to get a second spare one just in case. A must have for artists and other creative people. Arrived on time, excellent service.

Mit diesem Farbmischrad bin ich sehr zufrieden. Was man auf dem Foto nicht erkennt: auf der Rückseite gibt es eine zweites Farbmischrad, wo die Farben nach Schwarz hin abgedunkelt werden. Sozusagen das Gegenstück zu diesem in der Mitte pastellfarbigen Rad. So kann man auf sehr komplexe Weise die wichtigsten Kontraste untersuchen und zu interessanten Farbgestaltungen kommen! Auch wenn so ein Farbrad zunächst *simpel* wirkt, kann man auch als Grafiker sehr gut selbst damit arbeiten! Ein kleiner Abzug: die Scheibe hätte aus etwas stabilerer Pappe gefertigt sein können.
