Bought this to replace my years-old Therassage mat. Love it! Much sturdier attachment and controls, and works perfectly. My only (small) gripe is that the heating surface is only where the jade stones are, not over the whole pad, like the Therassage. I misread the description which mentioned the dimensions of the stone area and then said something like "pad goes edge to edge" and mistakenly thought that meant heat. I wrote to the company to see if mine was defective (since the old pad heated edge-to-edge) and they responded immediately with a kind and polite explanation that it is only meant to heat on the stone area. So while it's a bit disappointing that the heating area is much smaller than the old one, the quality and functionality are excellent, and I live on the thing. The other huge plus is that it DOES NOT HAVE A SMELL. So many products like this nowadays are unbearably and unrelentingly smelly, and this is not at all. The carrying case needed a single day of airing out, but the pad itself is without any kind of stinky chemicals. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for soothing body pain, relieving chilliness, and deeply relaxing. So glad to have found a perfect replacement for my beloved and now deceased Therassage mat. UPDATE OCT 2017: My beloved UTK mat had been stowed carefully away for the really hot months, and upon taking it off the shelf today I discovered the controller to be completely and totally dead. It's pretty much exactly a year after I bought it, and the excellent customer care was quick to reply and arrange a replacement for the controller. Still impressed with this product and the company.

Buy this jade heating mat ASAP! It is in a completely different class from ordinary heating pads, and although the company cannot say so, you should know why it is worth every penny and then some. I had a medical quality moist heating pad for 20 years, and the wiring finally shorted out. I read the reviews for this product, and was skeptical about some of the claims, found it expensive, but took a chance and ordered the medium mat anyway figuring I could always return it. I have chronic muscle and joint pain, and have tried everything. Here's what happened with me: I have had a ton of deep tissue massage done with marginal success in relieving the pain and tension in my body. I needed something to relieve the unconsciously held "body armor" caused by unconsciously clenching the muscles from constant pain and "life shocks" caused by abuse, childhood and adult trauma, stress, and anxiety. OK. I know you are thinking I am nuts, and I will admit that I am from California, but I am serious. I spent thousands of dollars on deep tissue massage to alleviate the dibilating pain from the above. It helped, and I experienced some relief, but the cost was interfering with my ability to pay the rent, so I had to give it up. Plus, it hurts! This does not hurt and it is helping me release the deeper tensions gently and easily! When I read the reviews there was one that said using the mat brought up emotions and feelings that upset her. I thought, "Yeah. Sure, Lady!" And I just figured she nuts. When I started using the mat, it started happening to me, too! I remember this process from Rolfing, Rikie, and Aston massage (deep tissue massage aimed at removing unconscious body armor) As the tension is released at a really deep level, the memories that caused the muscular clenching often surface into the conscious mind. If you find this upsetting or too damn weird, move the mat to another part of your body, or take a break from these sessions until you feel ready to move on. Ordinary heating pads only work at a surface level and can help the surface pain, but this can release much deeper pain in your mind and body. I can hear you thinking "Yeah. Sure, Lady." but it is totally true. If this seems like a lot of money, please remember that one massage can cost up to $200.00 per hour. At that rate, your mat will quickly pay for itself! My doctor told me to use it in 30 minute intervals and alternate warm and cool, because the warm makes the blood pool to the heated area, and the cool pulls that pooled blood away, taking the toxins with it. OK... Most Sincerely, "Improving Rapidly In Sonoma (Yes, California!!!!) The company cannot make these claims, and just as well, but someone has to say it, and it might as well be me, because I know exactly what is going on, and I know how to explain what is happening in a way everyone can understand. Still reticent? Do what I did and order it, with the understanding that you can return it if you do not find it 100% to your satisfaction.

Very pricey for a heat pad, but since I have to sit on one all day long, I didn't want the emf's shooting into my groin. They claim this blocks some of the emf's, though I have no way to prove it. Overall a nice device... gets plenty warm and is large in size. What I don't like is that the price is steep, the temp clicker is big and bulky, and it's not the most comfortable thing to sit on (because there are stones). Also, for some reason when sometimes the temp exceeds many degrees what I set it at. I'm not sure why though. I did send a message to the seller with the question, but they didn't seem to understand what I was asking. Also, there should be a quicker way to set the temp (instead of having to always press the temp+ button to go from the default 109 degrees. With that said, it's a good product. If they could make the improvements mentioned here, and cut the price down to $70 they'd have a winner.

This is a fantastic product!! I bought 4 more as gifts to people who struggle with bad backs, joint pain, knee pain, etc. I only need to use it for 1.5h in the evening, and in the morning I jump on my feet and keep on with my day. Seriously changed my life. I also attach it on my office chair, and while I’m working my back is getting heat therapy. Easy on the skin, even though I like to have a top on while using it. You can change the temperature to suit your needs. Also has a timer that I use as well. Truly highly recommend it if you’ve got lower back issues, neck issues, joint paint (knees, hips etc). You can sleep on it it’s a good size. Doesn’t burn your skin coz it’s infra red heating. Honestly, an absolute winner.

I've been seeking pain relief using an electric heating pad for more than 30 years now, and this one is the champion! Did you now that your brain, can take in pain, vibration or heat at one time? So, I began using a heating pad to cancel out the pain sensation, way back in the day...This one is the best pad of them all! I was a bit worried by all those little stones incorporated into this pad's design. But, if anything, these stones seem to retain a mellow sensation of warming! The pad is expensive, but I can now say that the price is worth it!

Great product although sits a little clumsily on my loungeroom chair. I do wish it had a lower heat option though as I live in the tropics and find the minimum heat setting a bit too uncomfortably hot. Very impressed with the effectiveness of it being ordered and delivered

I can feel the difference in the pain relief with this mat compared to my usual heating pad. I have psoriatic arthritis, and I get muscle spasms through my entire back. My hip joint hurts deep inside which the old heat pad although hot enough didn’t seam to touch the pain level as much as this one does. I’ll pop back to update my review after a couple of months. I feel like I have had a hot bath after laying on this. What I also notice is that once pain relief is achieved with this, there is a lasting affect. Where I would normally expect spasms to start to return, it seams that it takes longer even after getting off the mat for an hour. Very happy. Need a full body one lol.

Great product took the hassle out of reheating heat packs when you can barely move due to severe sciatica and waiting for surgery.
