IPhone 8 PLUS & IPhone 7 PLUS (ONLY) Defender Series Case - BLACK, Rugged & Durable, with Port Protection, Includes Holster Clip Kickstand

I'm on my second one of these for my iPhone 7 Plus. Yes, I still use that phone, largely because of this product. 5 years later and my phone is still a champ and doesn't even have the smallest scratch or blemish on it. I almost wish something would happen so that I have an excuse to upgrade. At this rate, I could still be using this phone when they come out with the iPhone 27. As it is, I am not quite as in love with this second Otterbox as I was the first one. The outer case is stiffer and doesn't fit quite as well on one corner, even though it is perfectly adequate and there's no slippage. But the other one had had it and after 4 years, some of the rubber perimeter had started to peel. I'll take a case that puts up with me, protects my phone, and lasts that long any day. The other downside to either of these cases is that the fingerprint area has to be very clean or it won't read the fingerprint. On this case, that means removing it entirely to clean both the inside and outside of the little lens over the fingerprint reader. Without it, a quick wipe of the phone screen on a shirt tail or tissue would take care of that. Otterbox cases do require periodic disassembly in general anyway as they tend to trap dirt. It's not a big deal though as about 5 minutes a month is more than adequate. Construction is solid and it makes the phone impervious to drops. I've dropped mine from 6 ft before, but my wife has dropped hers off a 10 ft balcony onto concrete with no damage. It really is that good. A year later, no dysfunction. The face edges are high, the corners are well protected, the face has a shield, and the back is well cushioned rubber that repels moisture like that of a wet table. There is literally no possibility of dropping a phone on a flat surface from normal heights in such a manner that it will hurt the phone. I would caution that if your phone gets wet, you'd better be fast, and this case doesn't just snap on and off. It takes 30-60 seconds to remove the case. In the meantime, the water is held against the phone and won't drain. It's happened a couple of times to me and there were no issues, but it's something to consider. The second thing is that it's a little difficult to swipe up the bottom menu. I think the edge just comes up a little too high for me and my big thumb to adequately catch the edge.

I like this case a lot. There are pros and cons to using it, however. Pros: -Durability unmatched by any case -Quality of materials is the best I've ever encountered -The case protects the port and vibration/ring switch -The case fits snugly around the phone -The buttons all match up and work easily -The port covers are very easy to open but also very secure -The fingerprint scanner works pretty well, even with the cover from the case. I think it works better than it did without it because it shows smudges less... I haven't needed to redo my fingerprint like I had to without the case. -Handles drops like a champ. I throw my phone around because I know it can handle it. The peace of mind is great. I don't freak out when I drop it. I dropped it so badly while in line at the deli, and it was unscathed. Cons: -I scratched the front screen protector probably with my keys in my purse. I wish that part was more durable or self-healing. -The case is heavy, and it causes fatigue in my arms. -There is not a phone holder specifically for this phone for cars. -The top speaker area is susceptible to water getting in. When that happens, it goes down in between the screen and the case, and the whole case needs taken off to fix that. I had this happen with one measly drop off water from my hair after a shower. They should have a seal around the case edging around the hole there. -The reason I have to take this case off at all is because, again, that annoying top hole around the speaker is unsealed. Dust also migrates down there, necessitating cleaning. Bottom line, I would buy this phone case again, especially since no other case protects as well as this. This thing is super rugged. I like it a lot. I just wish it was also waterproof and dustproof.

Good price, good grip, easy to use, looks good!

Well back when I purchased my first I Phone * it was the first as well* I kept dropping calls, I was told by many friends to get an Otter Box Defender & I did. No more dropped calls, no fear of dropping my phone, easily found because of the case's color. As time went by I went to another protection provider and Loved them too as the cases were thinner, water proof, seen as more stylish, the problem was people on the other end could not hear or could barely hear me. I could never remember anyone saying that while I had Otter Box protection, so I wanted a change obviously, what good is a phone if people can't hear you? I am glad to have my new Otter Box for my I Phone 8 Plus, it does exactly what I want it to do, other than providing water proofing for my phone, but most newer phones can get wet and even be submerged into water so do I really need that? I have not had one person say " I can't hear you nor I'm having trouble hearing you" even when using hands free. I gave this case 4 stars because I don't like the bulkiness of it, I wish Otter Box would find a way to make it thinner and less heavy.

Coque absolument conforme à mes attentes . Style et solidité . Un bémol cependant pour le film plastique fin situé au niveau du bouton principal: au bout de quelques temps il se détend, se plisse et ne permet plus une ouverture aisée du tel via la reconnaissance d’empreinte digitale ... du coup, on le vire et les saletés se glissent sous la protection transparente de l'écran. En dehors de cela, très bon produit .

É exatamente igual a minha anterior. Como eu preciso de muita proteção contra quedas (tenho filho pequeno) optei por continuar com uma capa grandora, que é um pouco incomoda, mas protege bem o iPhone.

Besitze jetzt schon meine zweite Otterbox Defender und kann sagen, dass diese Hülle den „ultimativen“ Schutz für meine Handys bietet (Iphone 6S & 8 Plus). Die Hülle ist robust und fängt Stürze gut ab, sie schützt auch einigermaßen vor Sand und Spritzwasser (sie ist nicht wasserdicht!). Ebenfalls schützt diese Hülle den Bildschirm ungemein. Ich habe unter der eingebauten „Folie“ der Otterbox (welche aus einer Plastikscheibe besteht) noch eine Schutzscheibe auf meinem Display angebracht um auch härtere Stürze abzufangen. Die Hülle behindert nicht beim aufladen, auch die drahtlose Variante funktioniert problemlos mit meinem Iphone 8 Plus. Die Hülle liegt gut und griffig in der Hand, ich bediene das Handy lieber in der Otterbox, da diese das „Handling“ bzw. die Griffigkeit des Handys deutlich aufbessert. Zu der Hülle wird eine Halterung geliefert, an die man ganz einfach die Hülle anbringen kann und sie somit auch am Gürtel tragen kann. Bei meinem Beruf (Filmproduzent) ist diese Funktion sehr praktisch, da ich es so nicht ständig aus der Tasche holen muss und die Hose nicht ausbeult, da das Handy mit der Hülle doch schon ein anständiges Gewicht auf die Waage bringt. :-) Ein Tipp für alle, die in Erwägung ziehen unter der Otterbox-Folie noch eine Folie zu nutzen. Nutzt eine Folie und keine „Scheibe“, diese kann zu dick sein!
