These larger pattern blocks are so awesome I would like to purchase multiples for the classroom, but one set is very expensive. The quality and the reasoning behind the blocks is excellent but too expensive for even shared sets in a class. I'll use them for now as a small station or with students I tutor.

These pattern blocks are great! Well-made, attractive, and durable - just what the teacher (or parent) ordered. There are a generous quantity of each type of block: hexagon, trapezoid, equilateral triangle, and parallelogram, with each type of block in several sizes as well.Children and adults alike can enjoy using these pattern blocks. (NOTE: don’t let children under the age of three have the smallest triangles or parallelograms due to choking hazard.) These would be fun for general exploration or could be used in a teaching situation, whether in a typical classroom or in a homeschool.As a former preschool and elementary school teacher, I really like these! I’m sure kids will enjoy them as well, with one caveat: they are very smooth and this causes them to slide around on a smooth surface. I would make sure to have paper or another sort of rough surface beneath them so children (or you!) don’t get frustrated with them sliding out of place.One thing that I would very much like to see added to this wonderful set of pattern blocks is a group of design boards. Kids (and adults) would learn problem-solving by filling a given space with different arrangements of several types of blocks.I placed the largest hexagon on a piece of paper and traced around it with a Sharpie. Then I used several types of blocks to fill in that space. It required some thought, and the paper kept the pieces from sliding out of place.Then I took an assortment of blocks and made another, more complicated design. Again, I carefully traced around the whole design with a Sharpie and proceeded to fill in that space many times in different ways.I would definitely purchase this set of pattern blocks again, but I really would like a set of pre-drawn designs to fill in. I hope the creator of these blocks will take my suggestion.

My son loves to create with this wooden pattern. He is able to spend so much time on this which is really helpful for me since he will have less TV time. It really practices his imagination and creativity. The material is indeed durable and well-made.

These are very nicely made. Precisely cut. Beautifully painted. I put the blocks in front of my kids and challenged them to recreate one of the few shapes shown on the outside of the box. Then, they played creatively and made their own shapes. I do wish it had a leaflet or QR code leading to a video or website with more ways to use the set.Just for this review, I found their website and they do have a nice gallery showcasing different challenges. Once I visited their website, I noticed another item that my wife previously purchased from Math for Love to help our children practice multiplication. Since we liked both of these, we'll be watching this brand and trying their other games.I still would have liked a little pamphlet or poster to be able to avoid having to go on-line to find the challenges, but the quality of the product and the nice website make up for it.

My mom loved pattern blocks and quilts so I grew up having a set of them always in the house. When I saw these, I wanted to order a set to add to my collection. I hoped they were as nice as the set I grew up with and I was not disappointed! They are the traditional wooden pieces. They are a nice weight and size and the finish is very nice - in fact the finish is so smooth, I made my designs with them on a piece of felt to keep them from sliding around. The colors are nice and bright and the shapes are perfect for using to make traditional style quilt block patterns. I am very happy with them, not only because of their quality, but because they brought back such happy thoughts and memories. I would definitely recommend them.

These are quality blocks, like the kind I remember from Elementary school - my son loves them, they are great sizes and inspire a lot of cerative play which is great for us because we are trying to be screen free. We are really pleased with these and they are easily one of my 4 YO favorite toys.

Warning - the smallest pieces could be a choking hazard. No directions/activities included. That’s the reason for the 3 stars.Search the internet - there are great activities that go with these to build STEM skills.
