Fabulous Fabric Art with Lutradur(r): For Quilting, Papercrafts, Mixed Media Art 27 Techniques & 14 Projects Revolutionize Your Craft Experience!

I bought some Lutrador in a craft shop and never really knew what to do with. That's why I got this book. But I still don't really know what to do with it.The book is only about 60 pages, and only 20 of those cover techniques. My problem is that each technique only gets a few paragraphs, i.e. printing on it only gets three paragraphs, stitching it gets two, etc. There's very little information given on any technique. Painting it gets quite a few pages, but even then I was left with questions that weren't answered. For instance, she says wetting it first allows the paint to spread better...but doesn't say if she means wet it lightly with a spray or dunk it in a bowl of water for a few minutes (after playing, I found the sink dunk works best). I had issues printing on it, but with only part of a column on one page devoted to printing on it, I had no clue what was going wrong or how to fix it.The bulk of the book is projects. None of them is really anything new if you're creativity has moved beyond following directions in a project book.The author is a great artist. I just got the impression that this product came out and she was trying to get a book out on the subject quickly.

More craft than fine art. I've seen too many books suggesting making transfers of vintage photos of women with text saying "sisters" or "love" etc, and hearts, and birds. It is a pretty and well done book, though. The Lutradur itself seems suited for fiber artists, or artists interested in stitching on the pieces. It reminds me of a heavy duty dryer sheet. I was expecting lutradur to be heavier and foldable like paper. This is not the right book or material for me, but will be interesting and helpful to artists on a different path.

As I often do, I checked out this book at the library before considering a purchase. After glancing through the book, I immediately got on the computer and bought the Kindle version. It was a really good introduction to this product. I liked the examples of using the product with different media. That saves me time and money because I don't have to experiment before I begin. Although I design my own pieces, I used parts of the examples in the back for my work. My first experience with this product is documented on my blog [...] I would recommend this book to anyone learning how to use this product. This book made the experience fun and easy!

It remains to be seen if I can use the information found here, as it has taken me quite a while to find the Lutradur, but now that I have it, I'm eager to try the techniques.I wish that there had been examples from more craftspeople, but I do appreciate the technical details,

Being a quilter the book doesn't work for me, but for a crafter or even a scrapbooker I think the item would work well. It is interesting and full of projects.

I found this book inspiring and loaded with well-illustrated ideas. Beware--you'll want to buy additional Lutradur for more projects once you've tried out the two free sheets!

Lurtradur is a fantastic new tool in the fiber and mixed media artists arsenal. I love that Leslie taught both techniques and projects using the product. It's great that a complementary page size sample of both weights of the product is included with the book. I've used several of her techniques already in my mail art and have made this book recommended reading for my group members at, [..].Normajean Brevik

Informative and well put together. Easily explained uses for Lutrador; paint it! heat it! emboss, needle felt, embellish, together with some projects.

I have found this book very useful as it is well written and illustrated. As a beginner with Lutrador I needed the insight into the product which is provided by this text. The content fills the gaps in manufacturer user information. I believe that it will prove to be a valuable tool

I found this book disappointing and uninspiring. A waste of money, in my opinion

book arrived on time and is very inspirational good value for money as it includes two shhets of Lutradur to get you started
