Silicone Keyboard Cover for Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad MQ052LL/A (A1843) US Layout Ultra Thin Protector Skin (for Magic Keyboard (MQ052LL/A), Black)

Impressively useful— my primary need was to keep crumbs and liquids out of the keyboard, and it does that very well. For general use, it has a nice feel and fit. In just over a week, I've discovered two annoyances that might be significant for some: 1) I sometimes snag the edge of the silicone cover when reaching for Control, Option, and Command keys. This is because the edge does not "stick" to the keyboard base, but floats just above it. I didn't realize that I unconsiously slide my fingers along that edge until I started picking up the keyboard cover. 2) In fast typing, this slows me down just a bit. I haven't quantified the speed change, but I can feel it. Over many years of using these Apple keyboards, I have quickly slid my fingers over the smooth keys—but now, the silicone has a more "grabby" surface that prevents me from doing that in the same way. These are not deal-breakers for me, and my simple solution is to lift off the cover for short periods of high-volume input as needed. UPDATE: This lasted about 3 months, so I just ordered another. It's worth the benefits and it saves wear on the keyboard.

After using for several months I find the cover works as originally described. Because of thin material some minor stretch/warp but still in one piece. Some color has worn off from the heavily used keys noted, but print is still readable. Very good value. Original review follows. Perfect fit on top of my A1843 keyboard and keys. Unlike another well-known third-party keyboard company's product, this doesn't wrap all the way around the outer edge of a Mac keyboard, so it may be prone to slipping off an edge over time (just trying it out so will have to wait and see). I get crumbs all over the place so keeping the keyboard dirt-free is a priority. That said, this model seems to work fine: smooth and soft silicone surface, OK keycap printing (matches actual keyboard perfectly), doesn't impede keyboard action. I wish I could find silicone model with large-print key markings or at least a little bolder print. The other company's product has become too expensive, but I prefer oversize/bolder markings for late-night or low-light work. Eager to see how well this holds up on the keys that often wear out first (for me that's o, a, s, c, n, and right shift). Overall good so far.

My keyboards is several years old and some of the letters are rubbed off. I ordered the black and the letters are very clear and easy to read. It also fits perfectly.

My original review of this product remains unchanged. It didn't work for me. I specified that the feel of the cover changed my typing ability from "barely passable to terrible". This remains true for me. A better typist may have no issue. But for me, the 2-star review remains. However, I was contacted by the company who wanted to address my concerns. They offered a few alternatives to mitigate the issues I had with their product. I greatly appreciate their level of customer service. This is uncommon. I recently had a serious issue with customer service with an unrelated product from another company, and neither the company nor Amazon would fix it. Thank you for excellent customer service. Even if I cannot endorse your keyboard cover for sub-par typists such as myself, I certainly can appreciate your company. My original review of the product is below. Likes * When the correct cover is selected, it fits well, and it stays put on the keyboard while typing. * Due to to its thickness and fit, it protects the keyboard well. * When dirty, it is easy to wash. Dislikes Serious Issue: * The cover is thick and not as flexible as other covers I've used in the past. As such, my typing quality reduced from barely passable to terrible. I must remove the cover while typing. Because of the thickness and relatively low flexibility (compared to previous covers), I tend to press two keys at once OR fail to press hard enough to work at all. During the first six months of use, I typed with the cover in place assuming I would adapt. I didn't. Removing the cover while typing defeats much of the protection. I could have saved money by just putting a plastic bag over it when not in use. Nitpicks: * While the black keys with white letter markings look nice when new, after a few months, the black quickly wears away from the most commonly used keys. The cover looks terrible. * When removing the cover from the keyboard, it leaves an odd residue behind. This residue is not quite wet, and it rubs off without too much effort. But it's been on my keyboard almost a year and it still leaves a residue when removed. Why?

This fits perfectly. I love the feel of the cover. The previous cover I had was a little sticky. This works exceptionally well.

Garbage. I used it for about a year and a half before the “stickiness” made typing unbearably slow. Little did I know that that stickiness was actually the silicone degrading - when I pulled it off to replace it, my keyboard was covered in gross residue from the material degrading! Spent over an hour cleaning the sticky grime off of my keyboard. Grime that it was supposed to protect my keyboard from - instead was created by the product designed to protect! I never spilled anything, nothing got between the keyboard and the cover. It was simply bad material that created this mess. Do not buy this product. If I could give this 0 stars I would.

Every keyboard needs one of these. It will prevent damage from spills and you will never rub the letters off your keys again no matter how much you type. This particular brand is sturdier then most others, same silicon material but just a little thicker

I had a skin for my keyboard but sadly got ripped, faded and I found this skin. I liked a lot the color of this, since my keyboard is white, I wanted to change the color to black with this skin. This skin protector is pretty thin, and fit very well to my keyboard. For the price is very good, made of good quality, and I liked the package too.
