The quality of these shelves is below any expectation. The bamboo has chips, that have been not-so-elegantly filled with some sort of yellowish glue. It is exceptionally poorly painted. And it smells funny. I do not want to see or smell these shelves anywhere close to my bathroom. See the pictures. Finally, the seller, apparently, also wants to get rid of this product a.s.a.p., since, having ordered one set of shelves, I have received two. N.B. Most of the reviews for these shelves seem to be a load of bollocks.

i bought two of these. Assembly is very straightforward--I had a drill with a bit that worked with the allen-wrench head screws that came with the kit so that speeded up the process. There are two stainless hooks that go on each rack and I had a lot of trouble getting the screws to catch in the bamboo which was predrilled for the shelf attachments but was not predrilled for the hooks. I bought these things to provide storage space in the bathroom, I don't need the hooks for clothes--separately I bought clothes hooks.Each of these units attaches to the wall with only two small screws. Therefore I wouldn't expect to put anything more than a few towels on one of these racks.The shelves look pretty nice but they do have a strong smell to them--some sort of new-item smell I can't quite identify but it doesn't exactly fit the smells so far in the bathroom.The other issue with these shelves for me is that they do not fit the decor in the bathroom. I realize that is my fault--the tileboard I put up is kind of faux ornate with mosaic patterns and a little bit off-pink. All the hardware is brushed nickel and stainless steel. The white and bamboo don't fit. I will have to buy brushed nickel bathroom shelves. Not sure where I am going to put these two bamboo/white shelf units. For now one is still in the bathroom. The other is mostly assembled on the floor.

These shelves look great, and are painted well. This shelf unit attaches to the wall by installing two screws into the wall that fit into keyhole-shaped fittings on the back of the bamboo frame. However, the keyhole shaped fitting on the back was smaller than the heads on the screws provided. The result is that when you try to hang this unit, it pushes the screws into the wall, creating divets or holes where the screws where. I ended up having to putty over the newly created holes, buy a pair of screws with smaller heads, then re-install the unit a couple inches higher to avoid the weak patches in the wall.My guess is to keep this unit cheap there isn't much quality control on production, so you may get lucky and buy a unit with properly sized fittings. My advice is to check that the screws fit easily into the keyhole fittings before drilling holes in your wall. If they don't, get yourself a smaller set of screws before installing.Overall, the unit looks great and seems well constructed, but the above problem made it quite a hassle to install.

I absolutely love these shelves. I purchased this over two years ago and I'm surprised at how well it has held up. I don't have much cabinet space in my kitchen so it's been a life saver. I also hang my cleaner on it in addition to recyclables and oven mitts
