Was looking for an affordable lens for a last minute shoot. While there's no autofocus with this lens, it trains inexperienced camera operators to use manual focus. Once you figure out the f stop adjustment and play around for a few days, you'll enjoy it.

I needed a fast prime for astrophotography and this one had good reviews so I thought I’d give it a try. Results were excellent. For the price I couldn’t be happier. See attached pic. Composite pic of 21 shots at f2 20 seconds each then merged together in PS and edited in LR.

Great aperture but high contrast

For the price, this is one of the best manual lens I have owned.

I bought this lens as a fast, but low-cost, portrait option for my Sony a6000. I'm giving it four stars due to lens flare and a focus issue.PROS:-Fast aperture-Extremely low price-Decently sharp, especially when stopped down to f2CONS:-Pretty bad lens flare when shooting into the sun or at an angle to any bright light source-Consistently difficult to focus on subjects which are approximately 15-25ft away. Whether that's my issue or the lens's, I couldn't say, but it's noticeable and unpleasant.

This seems a solid product. The lens has metal body that feels strong. Even the MEIKE lens cap is metal, while the SONY provides a plastic cap for the kit lens.Before you start using this lens, go to the settings of your camera and make the following changes:1. Change focus mode to Manual.2. Set the Release w/o lens setting ON.3. Turn ON Peaking Level to aid focusing.The lowest aperture setting creates a nice bokeh.
