Dexter Russell P94803 Russell International 8 in Scalloped Bread Knife, Polypropylene Handle

I bought this for cutting home-made loaves of wheat bread (not the round crusty artisan types). It has a beefy handle, is razor-sharp, and has a thick dead-straight blade. The blade is 1.4 mm (.05"). Just a note for bread bakers who are frustrated trying to cut identical sandwich-sized slices; I have found the scalloped edges of most bread knives tend to 'steer' the blade to one side, and this knife does that too. Even with the cutting guide I made it doesn't want to easily follow a straight line. But when I focus, and cut slowly, and rock the knife to the front edge and then to the back edge, and watch the whole picture, I am able to produce identical slices which I freeze for my daily lunch sandwiches. This knife should last a lifetime in any home.

I have many Dexter Russell knives and they are the best I've ever used. I have some of the $$$ expensive German, etc ones. Dexter makes a working person's knife. Not real pretty but hold and edge longer, last forever and their quality is consistent. This bread knife is no exception. Will buy again...if this one ever wears out.

Works great, super sharp

I’ve had my knife like this for 11 years and it’s still so sharp and my favorite knife. I just bought one for my sister for Christmas and she was so excited! We use it for everything, cheese, bread, meat, you name it. Very sharp and well made.

She says this is the Best bread knife she has ever used and was a lot less $$$ than her last one...

If you make your own sourdough, you may find you have to re-sharpen this after every loaf.
