If you find the old ones even cracked a little bit, just replace them while you're working on the brakes. This type press into the caliper bracket. I found a deep socket that fit just over the rubber part and makes contact around the full circumference of the metal part, and tap it in until it bottoms out. Removing the old one is pretty easy with a small flat screwdriver and hammer.
