Simple, cheap and does the job.
One thing - not every original laptop bay faceplate fits equally well. Some will need hot glue to stop it from moving in/out and keeping it in that sweet spot, flawlessly connecting the edge of laptop and drive faceplate. Used it on 3 laptops, all faceplates sit differently.

Note that it doesn't come with a retaining latch even though one is described on the packaging. Fine if you're screwing the drive in anyway, not so useful if you were expecting a latch, were happy with your drive being minimally secured and wanted it to be quickly removable.

Not as pictured, but does the job
The item I received didn't have the captive screws on the side but the small holes in the bottom you manually have to put in. The metal was also very thin, but for the price, it does the job.

Great workaround if your laptop doesn't have a 2.5 inch bay
The M.2 interface of my laptop motherboard was poorly designed, relying on a bridging flex ribbon that broke and couldn't be replaced. Also, the pin terminals were to close together and shallow for me to solder wires individually. Good thing that the laptop had an optical drive bay, into which I was able to fit this product to replace my M.2 SSD (which despite being six years old still has a few years left in it) with a 2.5 SSD instead. Saved me having to buy a brand new computer.
