Simple, nice quality.
This does an excellent job of keeping our kitchen knives, safely sharp. No slipping. The knife cuts where you put it on a vegetable, after sharpening.I like that it has a quick, carbide draw sharpener for garden and rougher knives, or for repairing a damaged knife. The 1000 grip panel is the extra touch for good kitchen work and hunting knives. My pocket knife, which is a tool and used as such, is quickly brought back with just a few strokes on the 400 grit and 600 grit. A few swipes on the 1000 grit panel if it is the end of the day. This sharpener is NOT meant for sharpening scissors or shears, but if you understand what you are doing, it works great for that chore. If you haven’t been educated to know how different scissors need to be sharpened, don’t do it, you will ruin you scissors. This knife sharpener will not ruin them, you will.I pulled my neighbor’s hedge shears out of his garbage, spent 5 minutes with it, then set it by his garage door. Now, he loves it.This is not a, “no-brainer,” sharper. But, a no-brainer sharpener will not get a knife half as sharp as this will if you take 15 minutes to learn how to properly sharpen a knife. It is very reasonably priced, and safe to use. I will buy again

Cheap, easy, fast...
Way better than knife sharpening stones! I wish I had discovered this sooner. I used sharpening stones and was satisfied, but after watching a video review, I had to give this a shot—and I’m so glad I did. I’m never going back! These plates are fantastic, super easy to use, fast, and hassle-free. I can't comment on durability yet, but even if I have to replace them yearly, I wouldn’t hesitate. Am I happy with my purchase? Absolutely. Would I buy again? 100% yes!

Surprisingly good
Cuts really well. The 1200 side feels quite a bit coarser than 1200. It's flat, but its two very thin plates glued to a firm plastic board. My only dislikes are that the stone could be a bit bigger, and the plastic that the stone is mounted to kind of gets in the way of sharpening a little bit. Overall a great set for the money.

Nice stones for an excellent price
I purchased these to use in my shop to sharpen chisels and some tools. They are of good quality for the price and should perform the task well.

Totally worth the money.
I am only giving these 5 stars because I cannot give them 6 stars. Hey, I'm joking about what people sometimes write about 1 star. Seriously, I don't think I'd give them 5 stars if they were in a contest beside other sharpeners, but for the PRICE, they are five star. The coarseness MAY not be perfectly graded, and they MAY not be perfectly flat (although neither issue jumped out at me) I am very happy. I am going to purchase again for gifts.I guess, don't get these if you literally want beyond scalpel sharpness or if you want to sharpen a maul/ax or something, but for the average person who wants to sharpen knives, these are beyond adequate. And I basically use them as needed and put them away when done. I don't mount them to the table or such.If I had a complaint, I think all the textures/gradients are overkill. I would rather have two thicker stones -- coarse and fine-- than all the steps and grades of stones provided. I have never known anyone to start on coarse and work their way up thru the steps from coarse to fine. Yeah, either make 2 of them thicker, or sell two of them at a cheaper price----- But I'm just splitting hairs here. (Rimshot)

A Decent Product. Not an Excellent Product.
I bought these because I simply was not in the mood to spend $40 and up on the whetstone products I’ve been using for years. Frankly, I was curious and enjoy trying new stuff. Although I’m not disappointed exactly, I’m not doing a victory dance around the kitchen either. The stones do just fine and sharpen knives quickly with little fuss. Unlike other reviews, I do find differences in the grit markings, just perhaps not exactly in the order the manufactures seems to think. They are best for smaller knives, i.e. paring knives and utility knives. For larger chef knives, they are awkward. Flat-out wonky. The anti-skid pads are meh, especially for an 8” knife and my longer slicing knife.Yes, they may need some getting used to *and* they did sharpen my knives well. I do feel that for the price I received a decent product. Not an excellent product. In the future I will either purchase a more expensive diamond set or go back to a more “traditional” stone.I strongly recommend that you keep them dry or they will spot. Finally, neither a two star nor a four star rating from me would feel honest or fair. For now, they’re good enough. Time will tell. I spend a fair share of my work-life in a restaurant kitchen and sharp knives are a high-priority daily imperative. So three stars it is.

They work but are exceeding thin
These are the sharpeners that seem to work well. They are very thin and not attached to any thick surface. So they are a bit tricky to work with. On the other hand, they take up almost no room and are highly portable. Plus, the price is right. If you want to try your hand at knife sharpening these are excellent tools.A person might try gluing them to something to give them a better grip in your hand, or just p;at more for a set that comes with a thicker and heavier base.

Do not use a lot of pressure. They work great without it
Love them They are great.Products that leave a good edge and scratch pattern on your knife. I really appreciate the affordability. The longevity isn't what you would expect. But in all honesty for the price, I'll just buy some every time I get a little extra money.
