Well Made on the Fence About the Purchase
I have been Using Davinci Resolve since version 9. I love the power of its color grading capacity, it is the best of all color adjustments amongst other software. I have 2 C300 MK I cameras and one MK II. Both models allow for good grading. Using the mouse is great especially a Trackball to make color grade adjustments. I was fine with all of that over the years. Recently, I noticed the original price of $3,000 had went down to $2,000 for the Mini Panel so I reluctantly purchased it. I am a person who was very comforatble with my workflow and was on the fence about this product and ready to send it back.... Now 5 days into the ownership, I GET IT. All features, knobs, and interaction with the Davinci Software Makes REAL Professional Sense! The analog approach to grading adds ease of use and REAL SMOOTH Grading to your workflow. This is like having the $29,000 Version of the panel compared to using no Panel at all. This Panel is an absolute MUST HAVE to graduate to Professional Color Grading. Please GO FOR IT!!! You will Thank Me, but most of all YOURSELF! Now go out and Make that Money!!

A must for anyone working SLog3 (or 2 or SLog)
Very solid unit. Does exactly everything I need for color adjustments with DaVinci Resolve. The rings and balls are very precise with excellent feel. Make sure you update to the latest firmware so that the displays will turn off when not in use. As with all things DaVinci and BMD, it just works, no fuss, fire up Resolve and it detects the Mini Panel and all good to go. Oddly the unit did NOT come with a power cord? Fortunately I have plenty spare computer power cords so not a big deal, but if you order this unit, then I recommend you get one of these (or equivalent): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072BYGKZZ/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Just buy it
Use it one time and you'll never want to color grade without it again. It speeds up your flow considerably, and for reasons I wasn't necessarily expecting. Yeah the color tools themselves are great, but having easily accessible buttons to move from node to node and clip to clip, play/stop/reverse, grab stills, etc is just crazy efficient. I have a dedicated grading monitor, but for those of you who are using a single display, having a dedicated button for the full screen viewer and then being able to grade in full screen will be huge for you. The main reason I bought this was because it came with the davinci studio license, which I needed to buy anyways. So in my mind, I really spent $559 on a tool that I literally use 7 days a week at times. The only critique I have, which I saw mentioned in another review, is that the knobs along the top of this panel don't have backlighting. I'd be lying if I said that wasn't slightly annoying. I'm sure with a ton of use muscle memory would kick in, but that hasn't happened yet so I have to look down every time. If anything though, that just means I'll probably sell this someday and upgrade to the mini panel when that jump can be justified.

Nice but not necessary
Incredible build quality (it better be for the price). Very solid, metal construction with weighted balls for great feel while color grading. It is taking some time to get used to coloring with it and it took some work to figure out how to make space for it on my desk but I’m enjoying it as a luxury item. Definitely not required but enjoyable to use

As a busy colorist I find this to come up short, but overall a solid piece of gear worth the price.
The buttons are too firm/hard to press. This adds to repetitive stress injuries for those of us working full time with it. I much prefer the buttons on the baselight blackboard, or even the tangent wave. This feels like a super solid build, but in practice the hard to push buttons and slightly hard to move wheels and balls make the physical work of grading slower and harder. I expect after a long time with this my wrists are going to end up hurting too much to use it. I'm two weeks in, but it usually takes my a few months for the joints to hurt too much to use something. A lot of colorists develop these issues, so it should be considered in any build design. I also really wish there was a button to add a keyframe to current node color, or current node active shape, and buttons to track forward and back (why don't the buttons on top left do this? maybe they do in some other mode...(?)) I also personally don't love having the saturation knob right above the highlight ball because I often want to modify saturation at the same time as changing highlight color, since that usually changes the feel of the saturation. I also don't like that the panel lights stay on when you turn the computer off so you have to unplug it when not in use, no off switch. WTF. But overall the unit is super well built and adds a ton of well organized functionality over the micro panel or tangent wave. I think their advanced panel is terribly laid out, but still this probably doesn't quite get you to advanced panel speed. This thing is pretty amazing overall, but also not by any measure perfect. Absolutely a solid investment and high quality product that continues the black magic method of dominating the market through affordable high quality technology.

Perfect
As a professional colorist with 42 years of experience, I had already used this panel as well as other aftermarket panels and already knew this was superior to products costing quite a bit more. Solid professional quality and nice coordination with Blackmagic daVinci Resolve software, plug and play with one USB cable. I even like the compact form factor better than the Resolve Studio panels which are very showy but more cumbersome to actually work with. I've added a Koolertron 44 button programmable keyboard for the buttons I frequently use that are not on this panel and I'm good to go.

Imbarazzante
