they've been using it since I bought to prepare for their SAT examination. Good material to have and less expensive than going to prep school

Great, thick book....
The question are a lot for each subject.they all include keys, which help for social studies.but doesn't teach the secret to a successful test result.Basically is a Question book with answer from the previews test;make for you to practice. If you're looking for a teaching book, this is not the one.

Good Experience
It was my first time buying something from Amazon. The price was very good and there was no problem with the transfer. The books are in good condition. Thanks a lot

Just 1 sample test per subject
The book gives a few tips that may not be easily found elsewhere, but mainly repeats info you've seen/heard if you've been checking into these tests. Then there's one sample test per subject, along with the answer grid; that's what makes it such a long book. As long as you know that's what you're getting...

Can be helpful
This product could have been helpful, but there were many mistakes within the book. I was reviewing for the French SAT II test with listening, and the answers in the back of the book were not correct. Although this tool can be very helpful and can help give you a feel for what the SAT II's look like, it has many errors and can lead you astray.

Great prep book
Great SAT prep book. Looks beyond the topics and tasks and integrates the actual author(s) of the SAT - very helpful. Tasks are also many and easy-to-follow.

Necessary
I will begin by saying that buying this book is a pain. Even if you only wish to use one practice paper from one SAT subject, you need to buy this massive book containing ALL subject tests to do so. It would be much more convenient if College Board could sell small paperback books for individual subject tests (note that such a book actually exists for the Maths subject tests), but they love to rip you off. The advantage, however, is that you can basically try out all of the subject tests to see which ones you may be strong in. I never intended to take the Chemistry test, but I eventually ended up doing after a practice test revealed that I could score above 700.The reason this book gets 4 stars is because it's the only book out there that will give you the closest possible experience to a real SAT test. That is the ONLY reason. Out of the third party books, Princeton Review comes second in terms of how realistic their tests are (and their books actually have review chapters for the topics covered). The only reliable way of finding out how good you are at a subject test is by buying this book - other books such as Kaplan and Barron's are sometimes known to have unrealistic tests that may give you false expectations (for example, the Barron's maths II tests are WAY harder than the real one). You're stuck, because this book really is necessary if you're studying for the SAT!I would recommend that you check at your local/school library for this book before buying it. Each test is only an hour long, so it could easily be completed at a library. Furthermore, there are no revision materials - only tests. There is only one practice paper per subject, which really isn't sufficient as your score is likely to vary from test to test. Furthermore there are no answer explanations, which basically means that you have to go off and figure out why you got each question wrong yourself. Alas, it is not a study guide - rather a bundle of practice papers and answers, with a chart for raw to scaled score conversion for each test. That's all you'll get. This book has been published hastily and sloppily by College Board. Shame on them for exploiting so many hard-working students, giving them no choice but to buy this book and making them pay so much money for the 3-4 practice papers that they actually use. Sometimes it won't be sufficient to get them the score they want, and they'll end up paying College Board more money for retakes. I ended up getting 800, 800 and 720 in my three subject tests (Maths II, Physics and Chemistry). This book contributed to those scores, but College Board could have put in a bit more effort to make the book more thorough.

Unless you speak all the worlds languages...
I bought this for a friend in Liberia to help with their SAT test. What it doesn't mention (or if it does, it's really well hidden in the small print), is that only a small proportion of the tests are in English; there are pages of tests in Chinese, French, German, etc., which are great if you speak those languages, but are completely useless if you don't. Therefore, about 10% of this very large, very heavy manual are of any use to whoever buys it. What can be used is good, but this language range should be mentioned more prominently on the cover!
