I got this for my 6 year old daughter to use as a school water bottle and we are both really pleased with it. We got the whale version and she loves the design and has proudly been showing it off to her friends in school.In terms of build quality everything is manufactured to a high standard. The screw on lid features a good, fixed "O" ring which prevents any leaks. Internally, I was expecting to see the usual stainless steel silver/grey colour but instead it looks like brushed gold/bronze. It's an interesting look, one that looks a bit like it's been coffee stained, but doesn't affect the drink held within.To open the drinking lid, flick up the safety lock and then press the open button. The lid swings open and you can drink easily from the spout. The safety is easy to operate, but the button does require a bit more force to open. My daughter can do it, but younger children may need assistance.Though it is not what I would call cheap, you can see where the money is going and it feels like it should last a long time. The only negative is that it is hand wash only, which is a bit of a pain but not the end of the world.One other thing to note are the slightly confusing "Swiss Made" claims. The main body of the bottle proudly states "Swiss Made", but there is information on the lid that states that it is "Swiss Design" but "Made In China", (see my photos and I've put together a collage one as well). This doesn't bother me at all, as the main thing is the bottle is well made, but I still feel it is worth noting.If you are after an excellent drink bottle that looks great and is well made, then this should definitely be considered.

The bottle was given to our daughter in law who is 4+, she was very pleased to receive this. She has made use of this but I would aim at a bit older age I think. As a routine she uses such bottles all the time but this usually has a straw in to suck water out, as opposed to a tilt and drink. She liked the theme of this bottle and its quite nice. The bottle is easy to use and get water out once you know how, good to hold and facilitated what it is expected to do. Very pleased with this water bottle for children. Arrived promptly, in good condition. Simple bottle with internal straw, fold-down external straw-like sipper, and a tiny vent that's blocked when the sipper is closed. The vent is small enough not to be entirely silent, but unless dog whistles hurt you, that's not a problem. The mouth is wide enough for a bottle brush, or to fit small ice cubes in; don't count on getting large ones in, though. The sleeve will protect your hands from hot or cold contents, but don't expect it to insulate. My expectation was that a single-walled bottle, like an aluminum can, would let its contents cool quickly in the fridge, and they wouldn't last long enough to get warm anyway. That's pretty much what happens, and for that use, it works better than an insulated bottle, although the latter would be better in larger sizes and for long drives.

I have several SIGG bottles, this is a favorite. Just a really great size, not too small and not too big and heavy. The whale is super adorable. I carry it in my purse or in a side pocket in my backpack/ gear and noticed no scratches or dents. Seems pretty durable. Great bottle.

I got this bottle for my school-age daughter and she loves it. It's just the right size for kids 7-12 years. It's easy to clean and the drinking top is easy to use. Highly recommend.
