Rawlings Encore Baseball Glove | Sizes 11.5" - 12.25" | Multiple Styles

I have a first year 10u travel ball player and this mitt is working out very well for him. We needed to get quite a bit of equipment so value was a top priority along with a mitt that could be used at multiple positions (mainly corner positions). Break in was reasonably easy with oil, mallet work and some good old backyard catch. We loved the mitt so much we ended purchasing the same mitt for first base. Better Baseball is a highly trusted seller, IMO.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Perfect glove for my 8 year old!

This is a solid 1st baseman mitt. Encore is the level right below heart of the hide. Glove comes pretty well broken in from the factory. My son used it a few hours and then used in a 10u travel ball game and it was fine.

This glove didn’t have a whole lot of reviews, either here or anywhere else. Just a few here and there. After getting it on sale for my son who wanted a nice Rawlings glove, I pulled the trigger on it. It’s very nice and fairly easy for him to break in with just a mallet, a ball and a rubber band. We have played catch several times now and it seems to be getting easier for him to close. I would strongly recommend this if you are after a nice glove for your kid who might not be ready for a Heart of the Hide.

Not sure this glove is better than gloves 1/3 the price. Takes some time to work in.

Great quality for the price. Perfect for a 9-12 yr old. If you want to spend $300 on a 1st baseman's mitt, wait til they are playing there full time. This is also a good option as a "team mitt".

Perfecto para mi hijo de 9 años que esta subiendo de categoría y nesesita a un guante que le permitiera atrapar mejor las elevadas sin que le golpeara tan fuerte la mano el metería es liviano pero grueso se ve muy resistente. Lo vamos a probar y les estaré contando sobre la calidad.
