Simple & reliable system for your AA and AAA battery needs
I am a millennial. I grew up with the Sega Game Gear which was a great entertainment device, but its LCD color screen was also adept at sucking the life out of 6 AA batteries. Back then I had to use rechargeable batteries and the experience so traumatized me that as a teen and young adult, as USB became ubiquitous I decided to only use gadgets that would operate (and recharge) through USB ports. As an adult, I have found that there are a handful of devices that I use that require batteries: - Cheap little lights diodes in the bathroom, or foyer for accents; - Wireless headphones to watch the TV; - Xbox controller. Eventually I realized I was using batteries regularly, and I even though I had them recycled, I am not sure exactly what the recycling process entails (and whether it is successful/legitimate...). The first couple chargers I tried were terrible. After reading many reviews I picked a LaCross model: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J6DLD4/ I thought it seemed like it had everything I needed. When I got it, it turned out it didn't work properly because the prongs didn't make good contact with the batteries. It would detect some of my batteries as "not present" for this reason. In addition, even though I have post-graduate degree, I can't make heads or tails of the numbers—and in truth I don't care about them at all. I returned that charger. This is why the Panasonic eneloop system is perfect, it swaps those inane numbers for something simple, colors: - red means less than 20% charged; - orange means 20-80% charged; - green means over 80% charged. Here are the pros: - The color-coded read-out is simple to understand, and doesn't overload you with information. - Can charge any number/combination of AA and AAA batteries (even odd number of batteries) - Can charge batteries with different charge levels at the same time. - Automatically stops charging batteries when they are full. I can't find any cons. I picked up a 4-pack of AA batteries in addition to those provided with this charger. I haven't bought any batteries since, and my initial purchase was three months ago.

Fantastic charger
Panasonic charger is easy to use, and with the advent of NiMH batteries, there's no need for complicated chargers with settings for draining or reconditioning batteries. This charger simply works, at least for high-quality batteries in good condition. Just insert the batteries and the charger does the rest, then stops charging each individual battery when that battery's charge is complete. No concern about leaving the charger unattended, even overnight or long-term. Unlike some chargers on the market, this Panasonic charger can charge single batteries at a time (rather than requiring batteries to be charged in pairs). It also charges slower than the rapid chargers peddled on Amazon, and that's a good thing, as slower charging incrases battery life. The only knock against this Panasonic charger is the fact that the lights aren't quite as intuitive as some other chargers, but it only takes Siri a second to pull up the guide/explanation of the lights. If you need a simply, effective, safe charger for AA and AAA batteries, I highly recommend this Panasonic charger or any of the Panasonic BQ chargers. The Panasonic eneloop batteries are simply the best and are worth the slight premium price. I've tried the Amazon Basic, EBL, and Energizer rechargeable, but none of them work as well as the eneloops.

Batteries Made in Japan / Charger made in China
Excellent batteries you Can Not find a better rechargeable batteries than these on the market, they have remarkable rechargeable rate, longevity, quality, and energy storage (mAh) I have been using this type of battery from this manufacturer for years now and they are hands down the best battery i have ever owned due to them being meticulously manufactured in Japan and not cheaply made in China like the competition. Spend a few more cents per battery and save hundreds of dollars in the foreseeable future, (Do the math) you won’t be disappointed by choosing this excellent product. As for the charger it’s made in China so only time will tell if it will last (so far the charger is still functioning but it’s made in China so ya…).

Great battery charger.
Lots of kids toys. We have a couple of these so we never run out of batteries.

Great batteries and charger--unless you are color blind.
These Enloop batteries are really good: capacity as good or better than alkaline single-use, AND THEY DON'T LEAK! They claim to hold charge for 10 years--I haven't had them that long, but I have had others unused for two years, and they were great. The battery charger is really good also, except I much prefer the old lights below the batteries to show charging and full (the reason I took off one star). A light that changes from green to red doesn't work for the 8% of males who are red-green color blind.

Reduce waste and keep your battery operated appliances from becoming expensive paperweights.
There are many products that use/require the use of disposable batteries to operate. They do not offer a recharging option and since disposable battery technology has ensured a low price point with sufficient longevity for items such as remotes, one may not think of ways to get around that accepted norm. However, there are alternatives that allow for higher energy output, quick charging, extreme longevity, and an high number of charging cycles - thousands within an affordable package, similar to high-end alkaline cells. The Panasonic Ni-MH batteries are a great alternative with their high-energy output (2A @ 1.5v for AA), shelf life longevity of ~10 years, quick charging times of usually < 30 minutes from 50% to full charge, and the ability to recharge over 2000 times - years of usage. Not only will these outlast most disposable batteries on a single charge, when the battery goes below its usable voltage, there’s no need to purchase more batteries and throw away the old. Plug these into the Panasonic charger and you’re back in business within the hour. However, if you’re operating using the old toss-and-replace methodology, your device is a paperweight until you can find batteries to power it. Can I think of a downside? Maybe, but I’m still trying to find one. A recommended buy if you’re looking for: lowered environmental impact; off grid support; lowered long term costs; and higher energy per cell without the thermal runaway inherent with some current lithium technologies.

Reliable Rechargeable Setup For The Whole House
I picked up this Eneloop power pack to get away from constantly buying AA and AAA batteries, and it has been a big improvement. The mix of 6 AA and 6 AAA covers most of what I use at home, from TV remotes and game controllers to small gadgets. The batteries come precharged, so I was able to pop them in and start using them right away. They also seem to hold their charge very well when sitting in a drawer, which is a big plus. The quick charger is straightforward to use. Just drop the batteries in, plug it in, and the indicator lights make it easy to see when they are done. The 3 hour charge time is fast enough that I can top off a set and have them ready the same day without planning ahead. Overall, this set feels like a solid long term investment and has already cut down how often I buy disposable batteries.

The sooner you switch to Eneloop, the more you'll save!
I love this Eneloop set! My C0stc0 stopped selling these, so I bought them though Amazon. I've been using rechargeable batteries since the mid 1990s, switched to Eneloop about 2005. I write the dates on my batteries. Eneloop batteries hold their charge the best of all brands I've purchased throughout the years. This charger is the coolest one yet. I completely geeked out when the lights do their Star Trekish/ Close Encounters test pattern when they test the batteries prior to charging. I already sent these to college with my girl, so I wish I would have taken a video first. It charges twice as fast than my two older Eneloop chargers. I will definitely reorder this set to upgrade chargers. I love the convenience of the flip out plug and that its compact enough to travel with. I always keep extra charged batteries for emergencies and power outages. I've used these batteries for Wii remotes, a digital camera, electric toothbrushes, puck lights, electric keyboard, TV remotes, Bluetooth keyboards & mice, flashlights, cell phone backup chargers, Sizzler charger pack (with D-cell adapters), battery powered Christmas lights, portable speakers, my outdoor weather station device (still works at -20°f), and so many toys! Wish I had these for my baby monitors. Stop throwing money away on single use batteries, do yourself a favor and buy these, you will save a fortune!
