My favorite lamp is back in the game!
My cat knocked my favorite lamp off the table a couple years ago. I picked up a replacement socket at a local big-box, but after taking it out of the packaging, I found it to be too flimsy, and didn’t install it. I found an old ugly lamp from my garage and learned to live with it. Last week, I saw my old fave sitting sadly in the corner of my garage and decided to give it another try. GREAT IDEA! This set-up is more solid than the original, and way-better than the big-box version. Great buy!

Perfect fit.
Worked like a charm. What is to break on these dang things, anyway? Old one just died. Used on a torchere lamp where there was a ring to secure the glass to the lamp. This one was a perfect replacement.

Exact replacement lamp threaded shells with Ring Phenolic Sockets.
Price seems on the high side but it is hard to find exact size replacement lamp threaded shells with ring phenolic sockets that fit the lamps over our night tables. While the price seems a little high it is a bargain compared to replacing the lamps. However, the problem with all phenolic sockets is that they are made of plastic and none of them are that sturdy. With time they break. Recommendation, when purchasing lamps check to see if you are getting metal or plastic sockets. If it is possible to get metal sockets I would go that route and avoid lamps with phenolic sockets as they all appear to be made with plastic. Eventually parts of the socket will break that cannot be repaired. You'll know they are broken when the lamp shade starts falling off as the socket will break at the neck.

I only needed the socket, but it worked well to repair a broken one
I bought this to repair a lamp where the wire had come loose, and the "push in" style wire connection had actually broken off on the inside. The socket portion of this was an exact fit, so I didn't end up using the housing.

Worked well to fix a lamp
I ordered this after not being able to find a replacement at my local big box hardware store. I was able to easily install it and rewire the lamp and it works great.

repaired the lamp well
This socket replaced a bad one in a lamp I had. It works well, and has a set screw the original one didn't, so it doesn't turn on the threaded stem.

Needs a washer or another nut added
The lamp shades vary in design and size. After assembling the switch on the lamp and added the shade, it did not sit flat as there was no support for the shade frame to rest on. We had to get a large washer to put on the lamp mechanism, add the shade then added the nut to the lamp mechanism to secure the shade in place. I recommend the manufacturer add an additional nut to the package.
