Better than Hemingway
I happily stumbled into this book. Joan Didion's prose is amazing. Her pacing is rapid. Her characters are cyphers, driving recklessly in one direction. This is Hollywood America where wealthy characters can indulge in existential carrying-on insulated from everyday life. Do these people exist? I don't know. But do people believe that these people exist? Yes, most of us do. Superficial and deep at the same time. Enjoy.
