Great Grip Gadget
Great gadget, worked as stated. Used on Dritz Curved Safety Pins (1 1/2 inch) without any problem. Pinned fabric with ease.

So easy! Love them!
I loved that the package let me know exactly what size safety pins that I needed. So easy to attach to the safety pins, just listen for the snap and you know that the pin is in all the way. Must have for quilters as the pins do not get stuck together when they are in the storage box.

Need special pins
These did not fit the brand of pins I had so I had to buy new pins also. I think this should have been stated on the outside of the package. Once I got the new pins and used them I really like them. Easier on my hands.

Great for quilting, assembly required
I purchased these some time ago along with #1 curved safety pins and the kwik clip tool. (I really got tired of being assaulted by straight pins while quilting.) Attaching these to the safety pins required the use of needle nose pliers to firmly attach them. Once they were on the curved safety pins, they stayed on. I use these for small quilts, table runners, etc. In other words, anything small enough to be quilted on my machine rather than a long arm. Adding the Kwik Clip tool to open and close these makes them easy to put on and take off the quilt. Plus there is that being able to see them factor! My eyes, unlike the rest of me, are getting older and it's sometimes hard to see "naked" pins in the quilt. This is a great solution for me. The only drawback I've encountered is that it took some time for me to attach these covers to the safety pins. I do think the effort was worth it because they do work for me and it was a one-time chore.

So Glad I Purchased
It takes a few minutes with a needle-nose pliers to attach the plastic to quilter’s safety pins, but you only have to do it once. Then, they make pin-basting your quilt sandwich so easy. Variety of colors allows you to select the colors that contrast with your quilt top so they can be easily seen. Pair these with Kwik Klip tool and pinning goes so quickly. I love to quilt, but pinning can be so tedious and time consuming. With 3 cats always trying to ‘help’, I need to get basting done quickly and efficiently. The tool helps to keep the fabric from bunching and keeps your fingernails from getting snagged or arthritis acting up. A must-have addition to your quilting supplies.

Great product.
These took a long time to get here, but I was able to put them on my size 1 curved safety pins pretty quickly. You do need some small needle nose pliars . They seem to be easiest to put on with the pins open. They were actually really easy to put on. They make basting my quilts super fast and are much easier on the hands. I love they make it easier to see where the pins are. I like that when storing my pins they don’t end up all tangled.

The basting process is so much easier now that I have a better grip on the pins — and safer
Lifesavers. Seriously. The basting process is so much easier now that I have a better grip on the pins — and safer, now that it's impossible to lose track of them! Putting these onto the pins IS a tedious process, but it's well worth the time and effort. Just turn on the TV and you'll have all of them assembled before you know it. I highly recommend buying the Kwik Klip as well. It sped up the basting process considerably, and saved me a bunch of pinpricks.

I bought these almost 2 years ago (when they were still available through Amazon.ca directly at a reasonable price) but only recently had a quilt large enough to warrant pin-basting, and boy am I thrilled with them! I usually dread pin-basting due to bruised, painful fingers but this time...no pain at all, even after 500+ pins! And that's without the Kwik Klip tool that should be used with them. It was a thin quilt though, so I do think the tool would be good to have for future, thicker, quilts. I found having covers on my pins especially useful because there were no exposed but somewhat invisible pins to get caught on my presser foot as I quilted on the machine. I could see the pins easily and the covers just helped my presser foot slide on past without issue. The only downside was installing them on the pins which was a bit painful for my weak hands, using the pliers to click each one onto the pin. But I'm still giving 5 stars because the ease of use made up for that in the end. I highly recommend these delightful pin covers!

When I read the instruction pamphlet it had the pinhead covered with the plastic cover. That would be correct for size #1 (1") curved safety pins. Mine are 1.5" steel straight quilting safety pins and after a few tries, they do work really well. The photo is a quilt sandwich of two layers of batting with a top and backing layer of fabrics.

They should explain the pin size required a little more easily to read

These pin covers are fabulous. I had some old (over 20 years) #1 curved safety pins that were difficult to put the covers on. Not every pin would work. I bought two bags of these covers. With second bag of pin covers I also bought new #1 curved safety pins attaching the pin covers to the new pins went quickly and smoothly every pin snapping into place first try. I have pin basted four quilts with them using the tool.. I just love them. No more sore fingers and blisters from pin basting and removing pins.

great pins for quilting. I have used them before, so knew what to expect. They make the detail of pinning a quilt much easier and faster than using either straight pins or regular safety pins.
