Review: Why did I not know about this brand sooner?! I love it!! - I absolutely love this shoe and will most definitely be buying an additional pair. I'm a nurse and I'm on my feet running around the whole time I'm working, unless I manage to take a quick break to eat or go to the bathroom. I've been searching high and low for a pair of shoes that I could comfortably wear through my shift and have no foot pain at the end of the day. Spent a week researching the best maximalist shoes available before committing to buy this one. I love the plushness of the ankle and tongue area. My heel and ball of my foot feels very supported. The foot support is perfect. Cushiony, but not overly so. I have roomy space for my toes in the toe box that is not too loose feeling. I also love that the heel and front of the toe box has an extra protective rubber bumper. I kick things with my foot often at work (locking and unlocking bed wheels, use my foot to brace walkers of not so steady patients, etc). This added bumper will serve me well as I've ruined shoes from my kicking. At some point it would snag something and I would end up with a hole (what happened to my Brooks Pure Flow which is why I needed a new pair and the Brooks doesn't have the foot support I nee . My feet would ache halfway through the shift. Even after I changed out the insole. My first love of plush shoes was the ASICS Kayano. Very comfy, ultra cushiony shoe. But I could buy 3 of these for the price of one Kayano. These Altra Intuition 2 are perfect. I ordered a pink 8.5us (m) (I didnt go a size up like some recommended) they fit as expected. I love this pink! Bottom line, the bottom of my feet no longer hurt after a shift in the hospital. Yeay!! Review: Good product, needs minor changes. - I mistakenly purchased these when my friend's husband recommended Altra's. I was suppose to be looking for the Olympus but I didn't realize there were different 'models' of Altras. I saw the sale price for these and immediately purchased them. I do love the larger toe box! I love my Birkenstocks but I just moved to a different state where it rains and snows alot - not good for Birkenstock cork shoes... so I was looking for an alternative as well as a sneaker type shoe. It does fit a bit smaller than expected. I usually wear a 8.5/9 size shoe with any pair of socks. I did order the size 9 but have to wear them with a more thin sock. My thicker socks make it a little uncomfortable for long hours in the shoe. I will order more Altras, but next time probably go a 1/2 size up. They are comfortable in the toe and heel area. I do wish there was a bit more support in the arch. It feels like I'm walking flat on the ground - barefoot, which is nice because I don't like wearing shoes. The shoe laces are very short! I'm not able to tie the shoe because of this, so I just tie a double loose double knot. Next time I go to the store, I'll probably purchase some longer shoe strings.

Finally found best running shoe for my wide, bad foot! Love the Altras!
I think I finally found the most comfortable lightweight running shoes ever! I have one very wide foot (between 2E and 4E) and have been trying everything to lessen the numbness and pain from Morton's Neuroma, metatarsalgia capusulitis, a newly formed hammertoe, and a mild plantar plate tear. Needless to say, I do have alot of issues, but I continue running and avoiding the doctor at all costs. This shoe is normal width, but it spreads to accommodate my width with comfort and I also wear different toe thingies to wrap the hammertoe, plus I insert a metatarsal pad. I am absolutely comfortable and forget I'm wearing these sneakers when I'm finished working out. It is a different kind of feel with a zero drop. I never had to "get used" to it. It felt fantastic. I was wearing the Hoka One One Bondi 3, which is very very cushioned, but my big toe started to feel a slight burn after a while. I also purchased the Altra Paradigm 1.5, just as comfortable and I am now addicted to Altra!

Boxy toe idea good, but too wide for a medium shoe
At size 10 these were way too wide in the heel. The toe was wide and boxy, but there was too much height and the laces made the shoe pucker at the bottom lace at the toe. 9.5 has been my size, except in crocs which are 10. I ordered the 9.5 but it was too short so my toe was hitting on the top of the shoe when I walked around the living room. It claims to be a medium, but the box says 10d (u.s.) I only tried one shoe from each size, so they are going back. I search and search for the boxy toe, but have not found many. I have one in an old 11 year pair of Asics. When I tried to get more of the same, no go so far. There are styles I have yet to try on in Asics. They may sell this Altra in narrower sizes in other countries, the reason the box says "d". I wanted the pink pair, so undepressing, and less money. Could have worked for tennis, biking, hiking but too wide in most of the shoe.

Almost as comfy as Earth Glide
I normally wear size 8.5 in walking shoes but bought these in size 9 because of several reviews. The fit is good. The look of the shoe is that of a little kid's sneaker. I love little kid sneakers but its not all that cute in adult size 9. But who cares about looks if the shoe delivers comfort. I like how it feels on my 2 - 4 mile walks but they don't feel quite as good as Earth Glides. Unfortunately Earth doesn't offer the Glide anymore so I am glad to be able to buy this brand in no-leather styles. Update - I had to give up on these shoes. My big toes were killing me and I finally figured out why. The Earth Glides and the other shoes I walk in, the Vivobarefoot Stealth, are extremely flexible. This Altra is too stiff for my feet. I loved the cushioning but I have way less discomfort in the Stealth which has zero cushioning than in the Altra. The Earth Glides were both flexible and cushioned so they were perfect. What I've done is buy a new pair of Stealths in a half size larger to allow room for the insole from these Altras. The insoles add enough cush to the Stealth to make them almost perfect.

I must confess I bought them with trepidation as some reviewers say they look weird and too wide. I don't agree, I think they're cute.. They look like kids shoes but I'm happy with them and so are my feet. My usual shoe size is 5, I got a 5.5. My big toe is touching the shoe, but not uncomfortable so, I still have room to wiggle my toes. Anyway, I'd recommend getting them at least half size bigger or a full size. A great shoe, right padding and great zero drop. Also, I highly recommend Northern Runner with its excellent customer service and fast delivery.

Extremely comfortable! They are unlike any shoe I've ever worn before. They are very cushioned and feel very natural to run in. You don't notice them like you do other shoes.

These are wonderful shoes, still have life in them Post marathon! They are brilliant and comfortable for those with Morton’s neuroma and I did not lose a single toenail on race day! Fun colour, I will always buy these from now on!

Love these as I have very wide fit. I usually purchased a size 4. I read the other reviews and purchased a size 5 which fitted very well.
