I recently purchased the Starunder 6 Pack Floating Shelf Brackets (14 inch, Heavy Duty Industrial) for a major DIY project, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The first thing you notice when unboxing these is the outstanding build quality. They are truly heavy-duty—solid, thick steel with a perfectly applied matte black finish. There is zero flex or wobble, giving you immediate confidence in their load-bearing capabilities. These brackets are essential for any project requiring serious support and a clean, modern aesthetic. I specifically used these to make floating cabinets out of an entertainment center, and they handled the weight of the wood, hardware, and contents without a single issue. The installation was straightforward, and they sit perfectly flush against the wall, delivering that ideal "floating" look. These brackets hold so much weight and are very sturdy. Make sure you screw where a stud is if possible. I did leave a small gap between the bracket and the back of the shelf, only because my shelf wasn’t perfectly straight. That has nothing to do with the brackets though. I used three for my daughters shelf and I have the rest to use later. It comes with everything you need, besides the shelf. Very happy with this purchase!

These shelf brackets are solid and clean. All edges and overall design are rounded, even, and look good. They seem plenty sturdy enough for intended use. I like that they can be inverted so the back plate can sit hidden behind the shelf itself. One issue that bugs a bit is that the mounting plate is too wide for a stud in a wall. Obviously, one side of the plate and screws can hit the stud, but the other side of the plate will be too wide and wall plugs are required. It’s not a huge issue and I’m not sure there’s an easy solution regardless. If the plate is narrow enough to get 4 screws into the stud, then it reduces the width and strength of the bracket. Recommended overall.

3.19.2024. One star docked bacause one of the brackets was a slightly different angle from the others (set of 6 ordered). Of course I realized that when I was setting the brackets for the lower shelf. My bad for not checking them as soon as I received them. But life got in the way of this project and I was outside of the return window and just wanted to get it done. I flipped the bracket and it worked great. It’s perfectly imperfect and I’m in love. Got the shelves from a local source for really inexpensive and made this project look great. Brackets and shelves done for under $100 with my own sweat equity I will definitely use these brackets again in the future but I will double check them all as soon as I receive them. Would definitely recommend them. The hardware that came with it was perfect. I took my time to make sure everything was level and true as I went along. One side of each bracket is stud mounted while the other is mounted with drywall anchors. I’m confident that this will be sturdy enough for these shelves as I used three brackets for each shelf. And I am not intending on using the shelves for anything but display of some lovely decorations.

Brackets a super sturdy. Quite heavy. This is my second purchase of these. Price is good. I painted one set and it took paint beautifully. Holds the shelf board well using wall plugs.

These are super sturdy and easy to install. We used them in our bathroom for our live edge shelves. I love that the are love profile.

We have a low wall on the 2nd floor hallway that just cried out for bookshelves. It only took me 20 years to decide what to do - and in the meantime hardcover books continued to stack up around the house. I finally bought three 15' poplar planks, then sanded, stained, and coated them. I chose these brackets as they each will hold up to 50 lbs. I attached them to each of 9 studs - so each shelf will hold up to 450 lbs, for a total of 1350 lbs. of books. That may have been overkill, but we are about a mile from a major fault line and get regular 3.0+ earthquakes, so I figured these would be sufficient. Installation was easy and they look fantastic - so much so that I've had numerous requests to install similar shelves in friends' homes. I did use longer screws (to be safe), but that was my choice and doesn't affect my rating.

Looks good but a lot more flex than I’d like, I’ve had to add additional supports due to the amount of flex in the bracket.
