This stuff works!
Every year it's a battle over who gets to eat my sweet corn, me or the racoons. This stuff works great! Using cage traps, I caught one raccoon the first night and two the second. (I also caught three possums and our cat). A professional trapper showed me how to put the bait in a disposable plastic beverage cup, folded almost in two. The raccoon has get in the trap and work at the cup to get it open. This method also prevents them from digging under the trap from the outside to retrieve the bait as it falls through the floor of the trap. Then a few loose pieces of bait are sprinkled at the mouth of the trap and a few more as a trail, inside the trap leading to the folded plastic cup. I also add a little bit of dried cat food to make the bait go further.

Made a mistake when I ordered this Coon Gitter
Coons have inundated my barn so bad to get at my feed sacks, it looks like our Southern Border. Traps sometimes trap (the stupid ones) but never trap the smart ones. When I ordered I was at wit's end and figured I'd need at least 2 orders to make a dent on my critters. I ordered 2. Mistake. Three nights, Three coons. Looks like only needed 1 pack. Pickin up another trap today and going for a 2-fer. GOOD STUFF. WORKS GOOD. SMELLS BAD. GOOD TRADE OFF.

WASTE OF MONEY
I had messed around with the cage traps for years with mixed success, most the coons would get the bait and escape the trap, I think because garbage eating coons got so big the door just hits them on the ass as they carry on. I then started using "dog proof" traps with peanut butter that was better but ants would consume the bait before any coons showed up. Then I got my first bag of Coon Gitter and the rest is history. The combination of the Coon Gitter bait in a dog proof trap the varmints' find irresistible. I now catch 2 or 3 a week, year-round which just shows how bad the coon epidemic is, but thanks to Coon Gitter catching them is easy Quality control? Old batches going stale? As you can see from my original review these pellets used to be great but the last 2 bags I bought attached 0 racoons. The previous batches I bought had a very powerful cherry scent that these batches lack. I don't trust CG to work any longer.

Works
Works (we caught skunks) but im sure the price is HIGH..... It is literally stuff put inside a ziplock bag with a sticker on- that doesn't even include ingredients. Im sure they either made it or got a BIG bag of it and are selling it for 5x or more the price of what it really costs! And there was a hole in the bag i got. But at least it actually works:)

Coon Glitter
With marshmallows, peanut butter, and cat food, I caught three raccoons over a month. With Coon Gitter, I caught four coons in five tries. Actually, I'd have caught five, but with one of them a rock had worked its way under the trigger of the trap and stopped it from working, so that one raccoon was lucky and well fed. This stuff is truly amazing, and one bag goes a long way. I've baited the trap five times now, and easily have enough to bait it maybe twenty more times. A little goes a long way.

caught 6 raccoon this week on 1 bag!!
the stuff smells horrible like toilet bowl cleaner! so dont store it in your house. the last raccoon was dead in the trap so maybe theres poison in the bait?? Raccoons have been eating my chickens and the neighbors chickens also....Now I been keeping the chickens locked in the coop most of the day and let them out 2hrs before dark then lock them safely in the coop for the night.Hopefully,I can let the chickens out all day ,soon as the raccoon threat is eliminated....Got a mama raccoon,2 big adults, and 3 small pups this week!! the bait seems to work so i will buy more!!
