Was hard to find didn’t think Amazon would have it very delighted they had got it on deal as well, beautifully designed,perfect

The case is just cardboard and the imaging is a little crooked on my box, expected a wooden box for some reason but it's okay.

Like other people are saying, the box for the books arrived damaged. I returned the item and the reordered a new one. That arrived damaged as well in exactly the same place (tear in the left hand corner of the lid). So this seems to me that it's not a problem with amazon, but a problem with the product, specifically the box. Which is a massive shame as the books are amazing. If you manage to get an undamaged box, take care of it, as I suspect you'll be in the minority.

I paid 191 here Canadian ,via pre order pricing ,at full retail ?? get the books. I am a die hard fan so I can justify paying more, but didn't. The art is fantastic. I also own all the Deluxe hard covers, which are well worth the cash, DC Should have re printed them all,in a thicker chipboard artbox like the Akira 35th anni Deluxe Edition , but DC being what they are,did a DC....

I’ll try not to get too deep into a review of the stories themselves and focus on the actual product. If you are looking to collect the entire Fables storyline, including some of the spinoff graphic novels, then this is the way to do it. It’s basically the four current compendiums in a collector’s box so you are getting softcover instead of hardcover books, but the box is pretty sturdy cardboard, and should keep them from getting too banged up. For those who have limited shelf space, it’s definitely a lot more condensed than the hardbound Deluxe Editions. The only downside for me is that there isn’t some sort of hinge mechanism for the top of the box. It’s just holds on with one single side paper that was used to wrap up the display box so I could very easily see it tearing. I’ll probably just use a sharp knife to have it freely removable. Other than that, it’s a nice solid set and a great way to read Fables! P.S. for those who haven’t read the stories, I would say to see it all the way through. The pace does lag at times, and it loses some of its momentum after they defeat the first big bad, but there are some real gems among the later arcs and the ending has a nice sense of closure.

I am more than a little disappointed: I spent a great deal of money on this edition, but I am in two minds about it. The comics are top-notch: so many sagas, so good to read and marvellously depicted. FABLES is a mind-bending tale of classical fables, forced to migrate in the real world, and therefore struggling with both real-life and fable-life issues. The result is a 150-volume-spanning asthonishing work of art (drawings are really good, sometimes even comparable to potraits from an exibition), which also inspired many famous tv shows after it ("Once Upon a Time", to name the most prominent and bleak one). That said, the box of this edition is a huge disappointment: made in cheap carton, it feels underwelming, and tarnishes the work. I am quite fed up with the fact that drawings on the box cap do not even line up with those on the lower part of it! A real pity, for such a good comic, to have such a cheap "Collector's Edition"!

There is no doubt that the contents of this set is extremely good. Bill Wiilingham crafted an original and engaging storyline and this set collects all the issues as well as the various mini series that accompanied the series. My highest recommendation on the contents Sadly like most of the reviews here my box arrived damaged. One side of the top was crushed where something heavy had been placed or dropped on it, leaving stress marks across the lid. Three of the four corners of the box were torn completely all the way to the top of the box. Whilst it arrived in shrink wrap, it’s hard to believe where this damage comes from. I had been waiting for this collection since it was announced, as the box itself is gorgeous, so you can imagine the disappointment when the damaged box arrived. I doubt if I will return just due to the fact it’s a pain to do, but I have 30 days to decide. Unfortunately by the sounds of other reviews I’m just as likely to get an equally or more damaged set. Perfect world would be Amazon sending out replacement boxes only that have been quality checked first as the enclosed books are in perfect condition
