Reading music is one of the most difficult skills to perfect in music, and most books do it the opposite way, and lose the student's interest. I have used every piano book (at least it feels like it), and this one is by far the most favorite. Review: Fun songs, a bit challenging, but great. - Both of my girls love this collection. I do wish there were more recent popular pieces in here, but they are really fun just the same. My girls have both grown so much this year playing from this book, since some of the songs are a bit challenging, but I love that they are challenged and have to work a little harder to get the songs down. I love the rest of Faber's level 1 series as well. Faber is the best!

I love that this book teaches young music readers to play songs they actually like, while giving them a few new or unfamiliar tunes in several styles. Reading music is one of the most difficult skills to perfect in music, and most books do it the opposite way, and lose the student's interest. Fun songs, a bit challenging, but great.
