So far I really like this infuser, but it feels a little delicate so unsure of the durability. I used it to hold the loose tea and spices for my Chai tea and it did a very good job. My Scotch Bright scrubber fit into it for an easy clean up. I really hope it holds up a long time.

I just LOVE this tea "ball" even though it really isn't a ball. It is actually pretty, nicely made and perfect for a tea ceremony if you choose. But I love it because it is bigger, has a great shape, easier to fill and clean and because I use it for making a few cups of coffee, so I don't have to use an automatic electric coffee maker with plastic parts. I just boil some water and drop the tea ball in, let it set for a couple of minutes and then pour into my favorite cup for the most mellow, smooth coffee ever. No acidity or bitter aftertaste and I know I am not getting nasty chemicals that leach from the plastic or the mold that sits in the tubing of the coffee maker. I am so glad I got it and it is just one of those things I especially enjoy using each day.

I've bought a smaller version from this company but find I can only make a single cup of tea with the smaller version. Anything more than a teaspoon of loose leaf tea in the smaller version produces a thick wad of hydrated tea leaves making the brew process inefficient. Now, with this larger version, I can make 12 ounces of tea (3 tsp loose leaf tea for me) without any problem. I think I could safely fit up to 5--maybe 6--teaspoons of large-leaf loose leaf tea in this without worrying about the leaves getting too big for the strainer. I still wouldn't use this for a large carafe of tea. The larger strainer holder is a nice addition in case you forget a small dish to drop the strainer onto after steeping. And the chain is proportionally longer than the smaller version's chain--though we've never used the chain. The bulbous clip end would prevent putting a lid on the brew vessel and the tea would cool too quickly for us. We've never had any issue with tea debris escaping these fine screens. We're trusting that these strainers are indeed made from food grade stainless steel. The filtration is, to us, flawless. Finally, the lid screws on securely without fail--just as with our smaller version which we've been using for three years now without a hitch. This is the best priced and most versatile tea strainer/brewer on Amazon we could find--and it's the best functioning among all the options we've explored save the extra large unbleached paper filters. But the paper filters are just too wasteful. We're happy with this purchase.

I originally bought this tea infuser for culinary purposes, as my old tea ball was flimsy and unsuitable for my needs. When preparing chicken stock, I love to infuse it with a variety of aromatics. This tea infuser has been a game-changer. Its generous size easily accommodates fennel seeds, coriander seeds, star anise, bay leaves, cardamom, garlic, and ginger. The infuser's weight ensures it remains submerged in the stock for optimal flavor extraction. Unlike my previous tea ball, the sturdy construction securely holds the aromatics inside. While it's easy to open, I recommend allowing it to cool slightly before handling to prevent accidental spills. Cleaning is a breeze thanks to its canister shape. I've also found this infuser invaluable for infusing chili oil with various aromatics. It significantly reduces mess compared to using a strainer or cheesecloth. While I haven't tried it yet, I believe it would be equally effective for creating a bouquet garni. The affordable price point makes this tea infuser a worthwhile addition to any kitchen.
