Epic Fantasy!
In the second book in the Realm Breaker series, Corayne and her unlikely companions struggle to continue the fight for the survival of Allward. They may have closed one Spindle, but her uncle is still opening Spindles to other realms and releasing the evil they contain into Allward. Dragons and monsters pour through the open Spindles as Corayne races to find and close them, and her uncle's new armies conquer nation after nation. I adore all of Victoria Aveyard's books, but this one may be my favorite! It was an incredible story! The plot was so intricate, with the story told from so many perspectives throughout the realm, but it was never overwhelming or confusing! I also loved the continued character development! After the harrowing events of the first book, the seven companions are now more entwined than ever and are finally trusting each other. The banter between the characters is incredible, even in the tense moments, and romances are budding between many of the companions. Also, the villains are so well written, I almost want them to succeed! Once again, the female characters control the plot line in this series! As one of the main characters pointed out, "So much of the world rests on the shoulders of two young women, with men squawking at our edges." It is so rare to have both good and evil strong female characters in epic fantasy novels, and it makes me so happy! But the end of this book completely destroyed me. Victoria Aveyard is the queen of cliffhangers and shattering your emotions in the last few pages of the book, and this one is no exception. I should have been prepared for the ending, but I wasn't, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

I need more!!!
This book is high fantasy at its finest! Highly recommend if you love stories like The Lord of the Rings, An Ember in the Ashes, or any other fantasy series that's epic in scope with a great cast of characters.

Engaging
Victoria pulls you in to her story, twists things up and right before you think you are going to be spit out she drops an awesome moment with a character who triumphs, overcomes or achieves. Great stuff!
