Solid aluminum. Solid Product.
This dock extension is exactly what I was hoping for. It’s made of solid aluminum, and built solid, too. I had seen one (4 star) review talking about the sharp edges underneath the platform. I understand their concern , but a little selective filing smoothed those out nicely. You do need to supply the hardware for mounting through the four (4) 1/2 inch holes, but that’s understandable. Not all docks are built the same. We were able to utilize 1/2 inch lag bolts. Overall, this product delivered exactly what I needed.👍.

Exceeds expectations
Easy to install, perfect. It’s much safer using this to reach out to the Boat. We love it and I’ve been using it now for six months. Highly recommended and it even supports very heavy people :-)

good product
well made. i deducted a star for the screws that came with it. I wanted the diameter of the shaft of the screw to be almost the same as the holes (included ones were smaller which might allow for movement). bought galvanized ones at lowes. I installed some wood support below the decking to strengthen the area of installation. feels pretty solid. it would be nice if you could mount the handle bar to either side, but you can't obviously. also would be nice if it were wider, but no options really out there.

Very sturdy, you'll need a sturdy section of pier to bolt to
The metal part is very well built and will hold plenty of weight. Getting your existing pier sturdy enough will take an extra board underneath to stiffen up everything. No through bolts for metal to pier are included. Just adding a short piece of treated 2x4 really made the difference. I'm 6'2" and weigh 246. It will hold me standing on end but does bounce some because of the way you have to mount to pier. I'm glad I installed as kids couldn't make the gap.

Keeping Seniors Safe
We are 85 years old, and this fabulous product enables us to board our boat safely and continue enjoying it. If you look at the attached pictures closely, you will see that I used a 2 x 6 board to space the boarding platform away from our dock to insure that the mounting lag bolts (don't forget the washers) were firmly secured to the supporting structure of our dock. This product helps us to stay safe.

High quality construction and value
Very well built and designed platform that was easy to adapt to feature steps. The finish also is of a high order, as is the mechanical design and overall quality. The finished adaptation (which swings out of the way when docking or boat lowering—neither illustrated here) could not have worked out better.

Easy to install (you need your own lag bolts to attach to dock) and sturdy. It’s exactly what we needed so friends and family could step in and out of the boat on the lift. The hand rail would be nice to be interchangeable with other side, but you are stuck with as shown.
