Disappointing
I purchased this rug for a fully covered screen porch. It looked absolutely beautiful in that space! Unfortunately, within a couple weeks I noticed a discoloring on the rug, mostly UNDER the pieces of furniture on the rug, which seemed strange to me. I googled and learned that: "Sisal and seagrass are relatively easy to maintain. The hard, natural vegetable fibers do not attract dust, and bacteria cannot penetrate the fibers. Sand and fine dirt do not damage sisal or seagrass carpets as they do conventional floor coverings; the soil filters through the weave, rather than sits on the surface." I also read: Regular vacuuming with a strong brush-suction is all that is needed for daily care of sisal and seagrass carpets. The beater-type cleaner is not as effective due to the weave. The strong suction of the vacuum pulls out the fine dirt which has accumulated between the fibers and on the underlay. Although the need may not be visible, this frequent and regular vacuuming will increase carpet life by preventing soil build-up, and will help eliminate stains caused when spilled liquids dissolve soil accumulations. If exposed to dryness or low humidity, a frequent, light and even application of water strengthens these natural vegetable fibers and enhances the wearing qualities. Moisture can be applied by spraying, light sprinkling, clean mop, damp brush, or any device that would give a light and even application of clean water. This dampening can also help eliminate minor bubbling and looseness, as both carpets will tighten up slightly as they dry. Sisal carpets dry quickly. Under no conditions should the carpet be saturated, or undesirable dimensional changes could result, as well as possible staining from dyes in the underlay. Care should be taken that the carpets are vacuumed and clean before applying the moisture, since dirt in the matting might stain if dissolved."I started vacuuming the rug every other day, but the strange discoloration remained. I then tried dampening the areas with water, as I had read about, and that was definitely not a good idea. The rug looks absolutely terrible and I've only owned it since mid-July :(I don't know if I had purchased a synthetic sisal rug if I would have been better off. I rated this product two stars (instead of one) because it is a beautiful product, but it only looked good for a couple of weeks :(I might actually have to throw it away.Addendum: I have added photos, and though I see that the return date has passed, I do feel I should received some type of compensation. I even visited a fine rug company the other day and inquired if they had ever heard of this, to which they replied no. In one of these photos, you will see where I attempted to "wash" off the discoloring (dab vinegar and water on a white cloth onto the spot). Obviously it didn't work. If you look at THE REST of the rug, you will see the strange discoloration I referenced above.

Needs Better Backing
After owning for a few months the backing is disintegrating leaving a powdery mess on the surrounding hardwood floor. It’s strange since we ordered three other sizes of the same rug and those all have a different backing that this problem doesn’t exist.

Purchased as advertised 8'x8' square. Should have measured 96" x 96" NOT! Measured 89" x 91"
I purchased this rug thinking I was getting an 8X8 square rug. I cut my pad a little less than 8X8 to fit under the rug. I have a lot of pad still showing because this rug was nowhere near an 8x8. I have contacted the company over a week ago and I have had no response from them. I did get a response back from the company. They say rug sizes are approximate. Due to various production methods and how a rug is produced, sizes can vary up to a few inches. I wrote back and told them as a consumer they should make the rugs a few inches larger than smaller. The company said they cannot do anything and I have to contact Amazon. Just a heads up when ordering from this company.

Not color fast
I had to wash down one of the rugs due to a dog problem. It changed color. Even the backing changed. Nice thing is I actually like the new color much better. However, I would Scotchguard them as they changed color very easily when wet. Originally I had thought to just wipe up a wet spot but the color change had me eventually wet down the entire rug. I would suspect they stain very easily. But I decided to do an experiment. I wet down another of these rugs and put it outside to dry. It turned a toasty brown almost as if it was 'suntanned' by being in the sun for a couple of hours. Granted I did not read the cleaning instructions. Just don't expect spills to wipe up without it still being noticeable after the fact.

Very happy with these 3x5 rugs.
I have been searching for the perfect area rugs for both sides of a guest room bed. Rugs with any color in them didn't work out, because it was impossible to find any colors to match the shades in the bedding. I wanted to coordinate with the tropical theme of the room - dubbed The Palm Room - but anything with palms had shades of green that I didn't want to add in. I decided to try these for their natural colors and texture, with brown edging to match the headboard, and a woven design that mimicked the weaving in the headboard. I instantly fell in love with these when I opened them up. They are a heavy weight, had no rolling wrinkles to flatten out, have a backing that prevents them from slipping on the floor, and were very economical compared to other rugs. I should have ordered these first and saved myself the hassle of other rugs I returned.

Excellent rugs!
Love the rugs, just what we needed for our chic farmhouse makeover! We bought 2 large for family and living rooms and 1 small for the front door. Good quality, easy to vacuum, they add brightness to the room. We added clear rug guards under the table feet to prevent dents in the fiber. Would buy again, still finishing the makeover, we may need a few more soon.

Fine work in the design and weaving of this beautiful ...
Fine work in the design and weaving of this beautiful rug. The artisans get 5 stars for their craft. Colors are even and flatness good. Makes the living room appear larger and very clean. So far, my cat Molly has accepted the rug with no scratching. I keep the cardboard cat "scratchies" always handy and that works for her. Only negative is the odor which is must less after set-up 18 hrs ago. I leave the windows open and will until odor completely gone. It is soft to walk on in bare feet and makes a good yoga mat for in-between times!!! No problems as mentioned by others in their review. Very pleased to have this 9' x 12' rug and a 3' x 5' one as well. Strict avoidance of fluids or eating on the rug due to potential damage to the fibers. Read up on care of natural fiber rugs before you buy. It covers a wool 9' x 12' eye-sore of a rug which sheds more fibers than my cat sheds fur!
