IMS Precision 16-18g Filter Basket Compatible with Delonghi La Specialista, DL2TH26E, Silver

This is a mega upgrade over pressurised baskets for a Delonghi machine. It’s a well machined piece that offers good even flow. Extraction, whilst not measured, is good. The coffee at least tasted great to me. Fits the Delonghi Dedica perfectly too, you just may need a tamper that is slightly smaller than 51mm, due to the shape of the basket.

Bought it as a replacement basket for my Delonghi Dedica and it works wonderful. If you are going to use it with the original protafilter you would need to remove (or cut) the plastic inside first for the new basket to fit, it's quite easy to do but the small caveat is that it leaves you with a 3rd hole, which I'm. totally okay with. Quality-wise it's good, all holes are cut fully.

Great ims quality basket. It fits my delongi dedica and a 3rd party 54mm handle that I bought separately. Few things to note: 1) basket tapers at the bottom, so 54mm espresso paper filters don't fit at the bottom (they did fit for the 3rd party noname basket that came with the handle), and 2) the basket rim is a bit wider so there is slightly more resistance when screwing the handle into a dedica.

It is such a big disappointment that after all the hype around the legendary IMS and their baskets and after spending £30 (exorbitant amount), it turns out that the basket is not at all what is advertised. The manufacturer claims it's for 51mm DeLonghi machine (I have the Dedica EC680). It almost fits in it, however: 1) I have to force the portafilter into the machine and then it works but overtime it will damage the shower 2) My Delonghi tamper fits in it but I have to force it both on the way in and the way out which sometimes drags the basket with it if I don't press a finger against the basket lip as I pull the tamper out 3) Not sure it's stainless steel because it does leave a blue-ish stain on the basket which you can't remove. Also, it is made of some weird non-metal material where the magnetic funnel doesn't stick very well to it so it's not very stable when I use the funnel and the WDT tool. None of these problems exist with either of the original Delonghi basket or with the bottomless portafilter I bought separately (Normcore which already comes with a basket) - they are both perfect. Save your money and buy something of high quality. Not sure who manufactures the legendary IMS baskets these days but the quality is simply not there. I'm returning it and not looking back.

According to hubby, this has helped him make the BEST coffee at home. One very pleased bunny.

Using with my Neouza 51mm two ear portfailter on a Delonghi Stilosa, tight fit but it does work. A lot better than the Stock Neouza basket as that was running too quickly, this allows a bigger pressure buildup meaning I’ve got more control over the run time of my shots. Haven’t pushed the dosage to the max yet but 15g of medium roast fits easily so pushing that to 18-20g wouldn’t be an issue

Expensive but worth it. It’s very well made and fits the NormCore unpressurised basket, which I bought to go with it, perfectly.

Les comparto mi opinion teniendo en cuenta que yo utilizo esta canasta en mi Delonghi Stilosa, con un portafiltro sin fondo, anillo dosificador, tamper, y un puck screen, todos estos accesorios de la marca Normcore. En cuanto a lo que es la maquina de espresso, si tengo un gran inconveniente con la canasta ya que esta se queda atascada con la ducha de la maquina, por lo que resulta molestoso tener que estar batallando cada que quito el portafiltro, tengo que buscar la forma de destrabar la canasta que se queda pegada a la ducha. Ahora debo decir que esto tambien pasa con la misma canasta que viene por defecto en el portafiltro de Normcore, por lo que no sabria decirles si ese defecto es solo de la canasta IMS o si es algo que pasa con cualquier canasta que no sea Delonghi. En cuanto al portafiltro sin fondo, tamper y puck screen, todos de 51mm, no le veo ningun problema, encaja perfectamente. Donde si siento que es mejorable es con el anillo dosificador, si llega a imantarse pero se siente muy debil, por lo que se debe de tener mas cuidado para no tirar el cafe. Por ultimo me gustaria agregar que en cuanto a la molienda no cambio mucho como lo advertían otros comentarios. Mencionaban que tenian que moler un poco mas fino. En mi caso no fue asi, si lo comparamos con las canastas presurizadas que vienen por defecto, obvio, si vas a tener que moler mas fino. Pero en comparacion con la canasta que viene en el portafiltro sin fondo de Normcore, al menos en mi caso, no. Puede que esto se deba a que antes preparaba 16gr en esa canasta, mientras que ahora con la canasta de IMS preparo 18gr, y esos gramos de diferencia compensan que siga siendo la misma molienda.

Bei meiner Delonhi sind nur Drucksiebe, also Siebe, die ein kleines Loch haben, aus dem dann ,,Crema" kommt. In Wirklichkeit ist das Fake-Crema und echt Crema gibts nur mit Sieben wie diesem!! Das Sieb passt genau, ist gut verarbeitet und ,,made in Italy". Ich bin sehr zufrieden!

Best basket for the price. Bought for delonghi stilosa and neuza portafilter. It works great it didn't stick to the group head like many saids at least for me . Works great good flow
