Great value
Used for massage chair ac adapter, had to rewire the thing so this matching set worked great for me,

commodore 64 proably okay
It appears that this will work with a C-64. A male plug from a C-64 power supply does fit into the female I just bought. I want to use this to fashion a new power supply. I have not wired it up. I don't know the specs related to the max current this can conduct though. I'll probably just hook it up and see if gets warm.

Impossible to solder
The pins in the male connectors have solder cups, but they don't come pre-wetted with solder. The plastic disc the pins are mounted in has such a low melting point that it's basically impossible to wet the pins with solder without melting the plastic. The pins are molded in to the plastic, so there's no way to press them out, solder them, and press them back in.Also, the male connectors come pre-assembled, which isn't usual for DIN connectors.

Difficult to solder
Plug pins are difficult to solder. The plastic that the pins are pressed into has a low melting point so pins come loose while soldering, a high temp material would be nice. To be fair, as small as this plug it would be difficult regardless of the design.

Hard to solder male pins. Insert plastic melts.
Male connector pins hard to solder. Wire cup on the pins is too shallow. When enough heat is applied to allow solder to flow the plastic insert holding pins gets soft and the pin moves making the connector pins out of alignment. For me, sadly unusable.

not worth it
the contacts on the connector will not accept any wire over 22awg the tab break off when moved

Pretty useless to solder
If you try to solder these, forget about getting the wire inside the cup. For the time you have to heat it, the pin will melt the plastic and it will start sliding out of place. That does not happen with other connectors. Very poor design.
