Works great.
Im not saying my shift is 100% like new but it was a noticable difference. 95% shifts real smooth vs before 1% of the time if i let off the gas it shifted smooth. Theres also a great video on youtube on how to install it. Only like 15 miles so far will update if anything changes.

Fit like OEM.
Fit like a OEM part. I noticed an immediate difference in shifting. To my fellow shade tree mechanics. Watch out when torquing the accumulator back into the valve assembly. It is aluminum and it doesn't like 10lbs. I did between 7 and 8 ft lbs.

How to install the accumulator 4L60E
This pinless accumulator upgrade was what i needed in my 1995 Chevrolet blazer. Drop the transmission pan the accumulator housing is located on the R/R side of the transmission. Remove the three 10mm bolts and drop the housing. Remove the old accumulator and inspect the housing for pitting or scoring. Next put the rubber seal in the groove on the side that is cut and looks like a cross. Next put the teflon tape on the bottom side which is hallow. Next use the smaller ball in the kit and put it where the pin would go. Use a small punch and knock it in. Use a torxs 45 and center it where the ball was placed before it was knocked in. Then use a hammer and give the torx 45 a couple of good hits to ensure the ball can’t fall back out. Grease the housing with trans goo or trans fluid and the accumulator. Then push the accumulator into the housing. When you torque the housing to the transmission torque it to 8 ft lbs. The shift difference is night and day.

Not sure how or why, but this fixed the 1-2 Rough shift and 2-3 weak/sloppy shift in my 2003 Sierra 1500 with the 4L60e. It drives like a new truck. It will take a decent amount of experience to DIY this. I’m no transmission builder, but if you got some buddies and a hoist, it’s a breeze. Do lots of research on youtube on how to do the job before attempting. The trans pan must be dropped to do the job. Great product.

After doing some research on the harsh 1-2 shift in my 2011 Silverado with a 4L60E trans, I found that this was a common upgrade and fix for the issue. It's very easy to install with basic mechanical skills. If you can do a transmission service, you can do this upgrade. (see YouTube for instructional videos). After installation, and trans service, the truck shifts smoothly, as it should. My only complaint about this product would be that it is shipped in a bag, but it should be in a box for a little more protection, as the piston is aluminum and if it gets dropped, it could definitely damage it. Mine had a small dent on it that you could tell was likely caused by a drop, or it hit something, but luckily it was in a spot on the piston that had no affect on it's performance.

Fixed my sloppy slide and bump 1-2 shift on my 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab with a 5.3l and a 4l60e. It started shifting weird out of the blue coming up on 250 000 miles or 400 000 kms. I changed the fluid, filter, shift solenoids and a new accumulator housing with this sonnax piston installed. Now it's a nice solid feeling quick 1-2 shift. Now I'm noticing a hesitation during the 2-3 shift under light to moderate acceleration so I'm thinking of replacing my stock servo with a corvette servo.
