Great product and customer service
I purchased a Topens dual arm gate opener model # A8132 and a Topens TC188 wireless key pad. I installed it myself and had no problems following the well written instructions. I did have a problem with the in-put of the entry code into the control panel, but with the help of excellent customer service I was able to solve the problem as I was in-putting the code numbers too slowly. I would highly recommend these Topens products and Julie, from customer service provided first class service! Thanks, Ken

It has never failed operating and it’s perfect for privacy and security from have to get out of vehicle at night and It’s not to expensive either for the product! The key is having all the conditions met and power source secured… Do it right the first time and done. I do recommend steel post for any one unless you light duty.

They work fine! I question longevity of the motors.
First off, I’ll say that installing them does take so know how. I’ve been an engineer for 30+ years and nothing can stump me! Everything arrived on time and in the box. Electronics are very straight forward! Directions were great! No issues pairing the key chains! Easy to adjust all the settings two make the gates open and close to exactly the way I want. The install went as planned except for a few things. They supply you with two lengths of brackets for setting the geometry. One is about 6” from center and the other is 4”. My gate had to be 5” to work. Not a problem for me as I cut them down, welded them and all is good. Biggest complaint is when the motors are extended all the way to open the gates, they have a good bit of slop in them. My guess is they have a poor design of bushings and probably shortened the arms for a better universal fit. When I checked how much the arm had left before it ran off the threads it was about two turns/ about two full threads. That’s a concern! At this point the arms are sloppy! Next is the pins that hold the motors to the mounts. 1/2” standard pins measure fine. About .002” of an inch small. The holes in the brackets and about .005” over because they stamp the hole instead of machining them. This give a total of .014” slop per side. This problem makes the gate’s sloppy in the wind. I have found my own fix for this, but it cost me $30. Overall, if the mechanical mechanism in the motors hold up I’d give it “5” stars. The gates are used at least four times per week. I will update this post in a year after having better data on how they do!! 1/31/2024

Cheap product!
Compared with Mighty Mule, which I have previously installed several times, this Topens is finicky and cheaply designed. The power supply and control board are in separate boxes, and need to be wired together. They sent one 12 V battery, even though they know it needs two 12 V batteries, since it runs on 24 V. And there is no enclosure provided for the batteries, so I had to make one myself! It is difficult to set up, since the open and close stops are mechanical rather than electronic. It is unreliable, sometimes not responding to the remote. I have spent at least five times as long working on it than on a comparable two gate Mighty Mule system. Bad News!

First time installing, couldn’t have been easier… AND Customer Service Rocks!!!
Installation was easy, with some minor tweaks. Read the instructions, they are easy to follow and helped a lot. Had to make minor tweaks as my gate was a custom wood gate and I also bought the lock, keypad, and exit wand. I welded mine together, but used the bolts to hold it place as I figured out the perfect placement. I had to make additional holes for the extra wires going to the controller box. I’m very pleased with it so far. My gate is solid wood and I’m a very windy area. No issues and plenty of room to make adjustments and tweaks for closing properly with the gate lock. I must add something about Topens Custom Service. They are capable, friendly, and empowered to make your life as easy as possible. If I every need another gate opener, I will check out Topens first.

Gate Opener
I purchased and installed this along with the Topens ET24 gate lock approximately 6 months ago. It has worked great until a couple weeks ago one of the gate arms would not close. I reached out to customer support and they quickly gave me instructions to troubleshoot the problem which was a faulty circuit board. The replacement part was received in a couple of days and works flawlessly again. Sure sometimes things go bad for various reasons but how the company assist you with these issues is important. Topens customer service was great!

Best all-around value.
After looking at all the different brands, I selected the Topens A8132 dual gate opener for my two 10' wide metal gates. The selection was based on available standard features at a good price. After installing them, I am convinced that it was the right choice. There are a variety of options that can be turned on or off with the dip switches. (For one example: slowing the speed at each end of travel.) All setup and adjustments are well documented and easy to implement. I had one question about connecting the photocell so I sent an email to Topens. Shelley responded immediately and gave me a detailed answer to my question. I would highly recommend this system.

Works, but requires maintenance and tinkering
I have had this gate opener for 3.5 years. I am swinging dual 10 foot aluminum gates. It has worked until today, when the poor waterproofing in the control box let the rain in and arced the 24 VDC power supply. The good news is that Chinesium 24 VDC power supplies cost 20 bucks on Amazon, so I should be back up and running on Tuesday. Other than the poor waterproofing, I have had occasional trouble with limit switches (maybe 4 times in 3.5 years), and lots of trouble with the gate opener remotes included in the package, which suffer from very poor range and from cheap plastic cases that loose the battery cover and battery and occasional self destruct. Would I buy this again? Probably - but I have the ability to tinker and do not have the ability to pay for a higher quality.

I purchased a Topens A8132 dual swing gate opener after reading many positive reviews on the product. The installation was straight forward but I did require some technical assistance (by email) which I received within 24 hours. The product works great and since the initial installation, I’ve added a wired keypad, exit wand and a third party Homelink receiver which all work extremely well. I am happy with my purchase and the support I received from Topens and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality opener.

Purchased a month ago to replace an opener that had failed after many years of service. Easy installation that required minimal modification to the mounting system of the old. Settings of the arm limit switches & on the control board were simple to make. My only suggestion when installing the openers is that you not connect them to the gates the 1st time you operate them so that you can better judge where the limit switches need to be set to avoid the possibility of the gate trying to close beyond the movement range of your gates. After a couple of weeks of operation, a noise developed in one of the arms that led me to contact support as I was concerned it might signify a pending problem. As others have noted, the follow-up was immediate & excellent. After trying out the suggestions provided the noise has been eliminated & I 'm happy that proper operation has been restored.

The dual swing gate opener was easy to install. The online videos were a great help. After a couple of weeks, (some at -20C) the gate is working great and as advertised!

System has been working for a month now. Install was straight forward and it worked as it should. You need to buy an electrical box too. Mine is Steel Electrical Box 24x16x8 $163.99 Water proof and lockable Brand JINDOUZI has a metal component mounting plate in it. I did not use the UPS01 . Its works without it. Just connect 24v dc to the control box. I built my own UPS with two 12 volt batteries and a charger . Its mounted in my garage. There isn't enough sun light here to use solar power. Too many trees. I ran a #10 24v cable out to the gate. Its about 200 feet from the garage The UPS runs my yard lighting too. The system has been through a couple of heavy rain falls and is still working. You need to buy the electric lock. I also put a manual push button on the outside for any one who needs to get in. I only want to keep out the deer and the cougars. The control box is difficult to mount because the mounting holes are inside the cover. This exposes the electronics to metal filings that are made when drilling the back plate. Would be better if the lugs were on the outside of the controller box. I hate phillips screws. They cam out and fall off the scre driver, Robertson screws are superior. The screws are made of stainless steel so when you drop one in the grass a magnet doesn't work to find them. Also a magnetic tipped screw driver doesn't work with the. Plain steel Robertson screws would be the best. Topens Support was great. Had many emails with Heidi at TOPENS Customer Service Team

After researching swing gate openers on Amazon I purchased the Topens A8132 Heavy Duty Dual Swing Gate opener. I actually purchased the opener prior to building my fence with the gates. The reason behind this was a customer posted there is a crucial 4" measurement from the center of the gate pivot hinge to the center of the post pivot bracket. I needed one gate to open 90° and the other gate open at least 120°. Everything comes in the box. All items are very well built from the actuators to the control boxes. I also purchased an Electric Lock ET24 and a Key Pad. You might want to read the instructions twice before you actually do the install but they are pretty straightforward. It takes about a good Full day to completely install the gate opener and have it up and running. It does work very well and was definitely worth the money. A few months later I did have an issue with the soft stop it wouldn't continuously connect into the electric lock. The customer service at Topens are very helpful, they walk you through troubleshooting and they shipped out a new circuit board and it works great. A few months after that the limit switch on one of the arms was not working properly, again customer service walked you through troubleshooting and they shipped out a new limit switch the next day. They're very quick on their service. Changing out the circuit board or the limit switch is very simple to do. Instructions for the limit switch would have been a little more helpful but if you can put the whole gate system together you'll have no problem changing out a limit switch. Even though there was a few minor problems the Swing Gate Opener is definitely well worth the money and a Awesome purchase.
