Is this any different than body glide? Do I really need 2 products? Thanks

Not sure about how different it is, but keeping one just for feet and the other for the rest of the body may prevent spreading of athletes foot etc.

How does this compare to the bandaid friction block?

They are both applied in the same way. Mainly they differ in price and size. BodyGlide Foot Anti Blister Balm in 0.80 oz and Band Aid Brand Friction Block Stick is 0.34 oz. Do you have to let it sit and dry before putting on shoes? How does it compare to Preheels?

I don't know how it compares, but I've used it and it worked well.  Did not have to let it sit and dry.

Would this be ideal for boots and socks? Say for military rucks?

I have used this product many times for hiking and it has helped me not have rub marks on the bottom of my toes.  It works great with boots and socks.  Make sure your feet are clean and dry when you put it on.  If you think you may need a little extra protection you can try applying it to your feet and add a coat to the insides of your socks as well - this way you get a double layer of protection without having to apply it twice.  This works for me on longer hikes - have gone 13 miles with it and not had to reapply or had any issues with my feet.
