Great Camera - Way worth it
Cameras awesome. I may be a bit jaded since it's replacing a lorex camera with a 2.7 sensor. All the important knobs and switches are there. The IR is really good. My driveway is pitch almost pitch black & the IR lights it up. IVS rules are awesome & the camera work great with smart psss Not using any of the AI stuff aside from IVS as Frigate handles all my alerts. Though since I piped the IVS into Frigate I get all my alerts a second or so sooner. Alerts come in a second after they happen. Will be buying more to keep replacing my cameras. Using my original NVR for 24/7 recording & Frigate for alert recording & notifications. If you have issues setting up it's probably because the cam uses a different subnet than your network. Comes with a static IP of 192.168.1.108 - plug it into a POE switch - plug your computer into the same switch & reassign your computer an IP in the same subnet (I did 192.168.1.10). Was able to set up the computer completely offline, no phone home internet needed.

Another Great EmpireTech Camera
All my EmpireTech cameras have been great, and this one is great, too. Just a couple of notes for beginners: This is an 8 megapixel camera, which is relatively high for a security camera. I got this one for a particular use that I wanted the 8 MP for, but in most security settings 8 MP is too high because it requires a lot more disk storage than, say, a 2 MP camera. All my other cameras are 2 MP and they are all excellent for what I need out of a security camera. If you want to capture license plates, this camera isn’t really the right choice…better to get a camera with a 2.8” light sensor. That all said, if you really want an 8 MP definition video, this camera works very well. The picture is really excellent. Just be prepared for taking up a lot more disk storage.

Not great for nighttime - go with the 4MP instead with larger pixels
This underperforms the 4MP version I have of this, and I wish I'd looked at the specs more since it's clear there: The 8MP is literally more pixels in the same space as a 4MP - t means that less light hits the sensor. I lost a lot of night vision clarity. Given you're already using an optical zoom with this camera, a lower digital resolution is just fine.

Easy to fine tune for any location
The IPC-T58IR-ZE S3 is a fantastic turret camera. I really like being able to adjust the optical zoom by changing it from 2.7 up to 12mm. It gave me the ability to fine-tune a narrow area of concern without having a bunch of waisted space on the viewing angle. It has a litany of adjustable options to dial in giving me just what I needed for this area. If you have ample night lighting it will display color 24/7. Or in my case I use B/W at night without the use of the very bright onboard LED's. Camera adoption was simple, and mounting was a breeze - you can't go wrong with this choice

Dust inside optic path, a number of permanent points. The item doesn't look new.

Great day time cam and Very good night time cam if you don’t want light coming from cam.
I included 3 pictures with time stamps on them. Daytime the image is as good as it gets. Just before it’s completely dark outside, the camera actually looks like it’s lighter outside than it actually is so it can get a good color image very late until it switches to night time ir mode. For night time the ir looks better than most cameras but I prefer the full color night time view from cameras that have the white LED’s on the front instead of ir. This cam is varifocal meaning that you can zoom in or zoom out which is a great feature if you are not a camera expert because it lets you adjust the camera after it’s installed. You can save some money on the same camera with the fixed 2.8mm or 3.6mm lens if the wider viewing angles work for you. I just ordered 50 more of these cams for a casino after getting this camera to test.

Product would not power up (DOA)
I decided to purchased this camera based on an on-line review comparing similar cameras. Unfortunately, the camera would not power up. The camera was packaged with a "quick start guide" and a link to download the full documentation to a web site that no longer existed. There was a business card in the box with a generic support email. I returned it.
