Amazing, years later it is not as good and has problems
It is amazing! I love it, and the controller works great! Edit- After a few years, it works not as good now and the triggers gave out and now reads it is being used when no pressure is applied. Sadly I have to use it as just a decorative piece. I loved the feel of the Original Xbox controller, but I can't use it with it messing up

Really cool retro controller
I love this controller, it plays the OG console startup when you hit the big home button and rests on the later xbox logo, very nostalgic and cool. It comes with a little display stand as well thats color matching. You can tell this was made by xbox nerds for nerds like myself. Its one of my new favorite items that I own. Only cons is the cord is only about 5ft long but a usb extender is cheap and easy to find. So far ive played 343guilty spark and The Library and no issues with the left trigger yet, keepin my fingers crossed. And last but not least Hyperkin needs to make an adapter usb connector so i can use it with my OG xbox console, now that would be great!

Left Trigger failed after just a few months
I've had the original Hyperkin Duke for a couple years and it's an absolute beast of a controller. Got kicked around as my travel controller and never failed so when I saw the 20th Anniversary version was coming with USB-C I didn't hestitate to get one so I could need one less type of cable while out of town and use the original as my home PC controller. Well, three months later the left trigger has failed and is giving constant phantom inputs making most games unplayable and after a search this seems to be a recurring issue with these controllers. I'd avoid these controllers as Hyperkin doesn't seem keen on addressing this problem.

A nice throwback controller with a couple shortcomings
Despite the bulky size of this controller it is quite lightweight which makes it feel somewhat insubstantial and ‘cheap’ and as a person who actually has one of the real Duke controllers for the OG Xbox I got back at launch for that console this definitely does not feel on par with that device in the hand, it had a real heft and a smoothness of operation that made the OG Xbox controller feel really premium and advanced for its time. This feels very light and hollow like a toy instead of a piece of high end gaming equipment. I really want to talk about the cord because I was very disappointed to find it’s only maybe 4 or 5 feet long which just isn’t long enough for my setup and probably not for many others either. 10 feet would have been better but a 15 foot cable would have been perfect. But trying to sit within 4 feet of a 60 inch display is not an optimal experience. I will say this much about the cable it’s very nice it has the classic Xbox green colored wrapping and feels very sturdy and would probably last a long time. I love the bright little screen and the Xbox boot animation. I also like how the screen also functions as the actual Xbox button it would be cool if there was a way to change the brightness level of the screen. Because in the dark it is quite distracting but not a deal breaker for me. I played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the XSX with this controller to test it out. I was sitting incredibly close to the screen thanks to the short length of the included cable so I couldn’t play for long due to eye strain but I did get to give the controller a good test of how it plays. Vibration is good and strong and the analog sticks are tight and responsive. I find the layout of the face buttons to be a bit problematic. They’re quite a ways in from the edge of the controller which makes it a bit hard to get used to and find buttons without looking. I really like how the black and white buttons are mapped to the left and right bumpers respectively, I would have liked to have seen Hyperkin add a feature to remap those buttons to different inputs, huge missed opportunity there but it’s still great the way it is. I think this controller would be great for racing games as the analog sticks and and triggers are oversized but still quite precise. I absolutely love the inclusion of a beautiful translucent green acrylic display stand that Hyperkin added in with this package. The cord might be too short to use as a full time controller but it definitely makes for a nice display piece. Overall I love the looks and presentation that Hyperkin put into this controller. It really strikes that chord of nostalgia for a bygone era in gaming where companies were still taking chances and experimenting with designs like this. However, I can’t really recommend this as an actual full time controller it just has too many negatives going against it with the greatest flaw being the lack of wireless connectivity and the inclusion of a far too short connection cable. I think if you go in expecting to use this as your primary controller you’ll be disappointed but if you look at it as a fully functional display piece, as I do, you’ll find this to be an interesting little piece of nostalgia.

This product blew me away!
This controller is just gorgeous! Perfect for people with big hands or long fingers. I’m probably going to buy another one in a different color. 😅 I do agree that the cord could be longer BUT it’s a solid cord! Wrapped in nylon by the looks of it. Just a 10/10 in my book. Thanks Hyperkin you’re my new favorite controller company.

Love these gamepads despite their tendency to have faulty triggers. Bought the controller to replace my failing one of the same model. (Trigger buttons getting wonky, lasted three years). But come on with that included stand: What's with the factory paper still glued on to it invoking kitchen cabinets and pet fishes?
