Amazing product! The whole design and functionality of this backpack kennel is incredible. I have a 13 lb and a 10 lb cat that I love to take on walks and drives. The backpack is made of nice quality material and feels sturdy with my cats inside while we're on walks. It has a clip on the inside to attach the cat’s harness if you have one, so they don’t jump and climb all over you when the top is open. There are two pockets on each side of the bag that you can unzip to put treats or other items. The bag is super spacious in both backpack mode and kennel mode. I was hesitant at first to buy the regular large size because I was worried my 13 lb cat might be too big, but I’m so glad I did because the XL would’ve been too big. There is plenty of ventilation and doors to open for easy access in and out for your cat. The shoulder straps are nice and comfortable, and there's a buckle in the middle to distribute weight. My cats were immediately drawn to the bags and had no problem jumping in and out of them when I set them out. The shipping and delivery was very fast, which is impressive when you live in Alaska. I am very pleased and excited to use these on a regular basis, and I would definitely purchase this item again!

I have been needing to buy new carries for my cats for quite a while now. My cats are very large, not fat, they are big cats. One is 12 lbs and the other is almost 14 lbs. They barely fit comfortably in the normal hard carriers meant for cats their size and those carries themselves are so heavy, before even putting my heavy boys inside! I live in California, in an area that has had devastating wildfires in 2020, so thinking about emergency preparedness when it comes to my pets, especially my cats, is very important to me and something that gives me a lot of anxiety. I bought two of these backpacks and I feel so relieved to have them. I appreciate that they fold down flat for easy storage and you just have to zip it up for it to be ready to use. I especially appreciate the shape and large size of the backpack, without even considering the expanding area. It is large enough that my huge cats can sit upright or curl up, without needing the expanded space, which is also an awesome and necessary feature. Then netting on this backpack is very sturdy. I like all the ventilation and that some places can stay covered since one of my cats is scared by his own shadow and the least he can see when he has to be in his carrier, the better. The straps on this backpack are very sturdy, which will make it easier to carry, especially with my heavy boys inside. I also appreciate the chest strap for added support. It took me a long time to choose these carries and I'm really happy with these purchases. I feel so much less anxiety knowing I at least have the right carriers in case of an emergency.

Update: Used this carrier to take the cat to South Korea. It was perfect. It is tall enough to put a baggie of cat litter on the bottom (for later) and a blanket. It rests on rolling suitcases so kitty can watch as we go through the airport (you have to hang on to the handle since there is no pass through). She actually got a lot of attention that way - like a little cat conductor. We got the small size, and she is a 7lb lanky Bengal. Keeping it zipped up on the flight helped her keep warm, but it was nice to have the expanding option if needed. Will never travel without this case again if I can help it. — I am impressed with the quality of this item! It has a solid base, pull tabs for popping out the extension, and straps to keep the second part from getting in Kitty's way when zipped up. It is a good value for the price. Haven't used it yet, but purchased the smallest size to take my 7 lb 10 year old cat on an international trip. This seems much better than a tiny carrier, but still passes the rules for take-off and landing when zipped up. It is sitting out in my living room right now (all opened up) and kitty likes just sitting inside it so that is a win.

I bought this pet carrier backpack because it looked more breathable and sleek compared to other options on Amazon—and I’m really happy with the quality! The material feels sturdy, and the mesh panels provide great airflow for my cats. I have two: a 10-pound male and a 7-pound female. The first time I tried the backpack was in early spring, and the cold wind made both cats meow to go back inside pretty quickly. Once summer arrived, I tried again, and it was a totally different experience. My female cat loved it and lasted much longer outdoors than my male, who prefers being inside. That said, he still fits comfortably inside the carrier and enjoys lounging in it on sunny days. I’m 5’5” and around 130 pounds, and I’ve noticed that carrying my 10-pound cat for extended walks can get tiring. It’s manageable, but not ideal for long walks without a break. My smaller 7-pound cat is much easier to carry and genuinely seems to enjoy the outdoor time. I did try using the backpack during a recent hour-long drive, and I wouldn’t recommend it for nervous cats in the car. My female cat tried to claw her way out, and while the bag held up okay, I had to keep it on my lap the entire ride to keep her calm and contained. It’s better suited for short trips or vet visits, not longer drives with anxious cats. Overall, this is a great backpack for casual walks, light hikes, and letting your cats safely experience the outdoors. Just keep in mind that it may not be as comfortable for longer distances if your cat is heavier—or for travel if your cat doesn’t tolerate car rides well. Still, I’m happy with the purchase and look forward to taking more summer walks with my cats!

Great backpack - the type of screening in this allows for notably better views of the outside relative to other backpack options. Also a fan of backpacks that are designed like this - where a cat can be kept secure in it while the top is open for the cat to look (or partially hang) out of. Lightweight. No smell. Looks great. Great price. Returning with hesitation and only because another similar option had a slightly larger base as well as an expandable back, and my cat seemed a bit more comfortable in that.

Purchased bag design of navy and white stripes with camel piping accents. Looks exactly like product photo. Bag is very nice quality. Two ample-sized side pockets. Padded straps, especially like the chest strap - helps keep the bag steadier and level - but it does flatten a couple things for a 5'10" woman. Ahem. Mesh is anti-tear, although one of my cats was able to break a few micro lines, but it doesn't run, and is unnoticeable. Some reviews seem to complain about extension pad size, but I think it fits fine on top of the other when the extension is not in use. The added velcro straps on the inside also keep the folded-up extension from pushing through, helping keep a full space open in the main cabin. My cat is about 14-18 pounds but not very tall, a little under 12 inches in height from floor to ear tip, so the bag's proportions tended to fit him well. He seemed very cozy on the ride home and I think is looking forward to his next outdoor adventure. *Notes on other reviews: 1.) The review with the white dogs is misleading - their owner was using it sideways and upside down, plus half of what they said is false about the actual product (#justakaren). 2.) The reviews complaining about clasps - you can see in the product photo what is / is not on the bag - Clasps, are a preference, and there is a strong chest strap with clasp included. Durable steel zippers are attached at every entry/exit point, including with the additional, velcroed, flip up visor on the top of the bag. If you prefer clasps, buy a bag that already has them - don't buy a product that doesn't and then complain about it. 3) The reviews complaining about the 2ndry pad in the expansion side - take it out! Honestly, we learned to play with blocks in what, kindergarten? Take the expansion pad out, rotate it to fit on top of the other in the main cabin. The interior velcro straps can still reach, and keep the expansion pressed flat to maximize the interior cabin space. So glad I purchased this and didn't let a few bad apples stop me! The product reviews definitely don't do this bag justice. I would absolutely recommend this product if you're searching for a classy, durable, comfortable cat backpack at an unbeatable price. To start off with, my cat is huge. He is definitely part Maine coon, so he is naturally a bigger cat. I chose to buy the large size bag because of his size. He is a bit tall for this bag, but other than that he fits. He can comfortably curl into a ball and relax when in this bag. And the bag is very sturdy when I use it to take him on hikes. When I expand the bag out he has plenty of room. He feels safe and comfortable when traveling in his bag.

I get so many compliments on the design and the overall weight of the bag isn’t bad. My dog loves this bags and it’s so easy to setup. The only reason I’m giving this a 3 star is because when my dog is in the bag and I’m carrying the bag, after a while walking in the store, all of the pressure and weight is pushed in on your lower back because it’s a hard bottom and no cushion for your back. If they were to fix that I would give it a 5 star review because the bag is really nice and roomy but I can’t take the pressure on my back after too long so my dog trips in the bag have to be limited or else I’ll be calling off of work the nice day with back issues.
