Sturdy Little Rod! Makes Canon M50 Battery/SD Card Changes Super Easy.
This SmallRig micro rod is rock-solid and exactly what I needed for my Canon M50 setup. Built tough with no flex or wobble - feels premium for the price. The best part: it lets me keep full, quick access to the battery door and SD card slot without ever unmounting the camera from my rig, cage, or clamp. Just thread it in as a short extension/spacer, and swapping batteries or cards takes seconds - no more disassembling everything mid-shoot. Perfect length (1.5 inches), threads are clean and secure on both ends, and it holds up great during handheld or mounted use. Highly recommend for anyone rigging a Canon M50 (or similar) who wants fast access without hassle. 5 out of 5 stars – small but mighty accessory that solves a real pain point!

It's 14mm in diameter
This micro rod is 14mm, not 15mm. For my needs it makes a difference because it does not work with my tripod base. I just wanted to swap the rods to get a short one. The original rod is 15mm and it works with my tripod base perfectly. This rod is too thin so the base cannot encompass it fully despite it is tight as can be and it just moves down freely with gravity. If you does not matter for it, it is a good micro extension rod, but if it matters to you, look somewhere else. The item is not returnable or replaceable at the moment of writing this (Feb 2024).

Most valuable tool that you’ll need
If you’re just starting out with smallrig you’ll need this add-on extension. It works with all their products. It’s a must have if you don’t order it when you’re getting the initial crab claw or any of the other beautiful manufacture parts from them you’ll have to order it later. My advice is get it while you’re getting everything else. It’s more cost-efficient to have two. I’m just saying that’s what I did. I bought two so you don’t have to switch them from arm to arm part to part. It’s all one working piece. I wish I could be more eloquent and explaining exactly why you need this part but maybe their details about it will say everything I use it in Locksmith. I have a Locksmith channel on YouTube and I couldn’t hold any of my lock cylinders without this additional part. I’m so happy to maybe help you to realize the importance. This is Mike with Door and Lock Tips. Enjoy best of all it comes from Amazon and if you have Amazon prime there’s no shipping hooray for the consumer again this is Mike. Hoping the best in your smallrig adventure. where you will find Quality top notch workmanship ease-of-use with an added benefit of low price.

Perfect for my teleprompter
This is a great little product. There's really not a whole lot to say about it. It's just a threaded piece of metal that you can use with standard 1/4-20 screws. In my case, I'm using it to space my camera correctly on my teleprompter. I bought an inexpensive teleprompter a while back (the Glide Gear model available here on Amazon), and have found two problems with it. First, the camera sits a little bit too low, so when reading the text, I'm still looking above the lens, which defeats the entire purpose of using a prompter in the first place. Second it's difficult to move my hands around the cloth hood to get the camera screwed into place. This little spacer solves both problems. It holds the camera just that little bit higher so that it's now in line with my prompter text. But it also provides an easier "target" for the screw that attaches the camera to the prompter mount, making set-up much easier. What took me a good fifteen minutes to set up before now takes about fifteen seconds. It's a simple little device, but it's durably constructed--I'm not afraid of the product failing and dropping any of my expensive gear. If you have any use for a little tripod extender or spacer, you can't go wrong with this one.

Effective for my macro rig.
Allows me to raise my LED panel slightly, so I clear my flash unit. Only issue is de-threading creep over time, Understandable considering the hardware. I would love to see these in a rectangular shape instead of cylindrical. It would help with hand tightening/loosening.

Sturdy.
I am using it with a lens support (Shape "Pro") and it works great because the included post was too long and would interfere with my dovetail. It is thick walled, not essentially hollow, so it is sturdy enough to be used as a lens support post.

Was a little thin for my vice, but a couple wraps of tape and it fits snug.
